What a lot of fuss...
No I'm not saying he should never be employed again, I'm saying its unacceptable behaviour that should see him sacked.
Lol, which is exactly what I said in my post that you choose to respond with "I don't agree"!

I don't get this "heat of the moment" stuff. There was no heat at all. Hull player did nothing to provoke him and his team were winning comfortably. He just lost it for no reason at all. Utter madness.
Pardew lifted his leg up to let the ball go pass him and the player pushed him out of the way.. the Hull player shouldn't have touched him..
very generous interpretation!! Pardew actually moves into the path of the ball and then "lets" it go past him. he deserved a little push out of the way. his reaction was ridiculousvery generous interpretation!! just my opinion, from how I saw it.. I will even go as far as saying it wasn't a headbutt.. just using his head to push him away.. I still can't stand him though..
"He will regret it. I signed Alan from non-league and with all respect to him, it was a bit of a non-league reaction"
If a fan head butted another fan, player or manager,
what would the outcome be ?

I'd change to a telly with HD or a decent picture. Why would you use your head to push someone away unless you didn't have limbs ?
I have HD thanks...![]()
Hand bags load of old tosh move on
Gotta agree. The media reaction is almost hysterical and the poofters on Match Of The Day are particularly OTT. Ironic really considering that before MOTD this morning, the Beeb showed a trailer for the six nations rugby that included two rugbyists clearing headbutting each other. Oh, that's okay though because it's rugby....
Wonder if anybody has lodged a complaint with the police to investigate. If a normal punter did that to a steward they won't be moved to a seat with a better view of the pitch that's for sure
Well thats him ruled out from being England manager when Hodgson sacked in the summer

There of course should be a very sizeable punishment for this offence. However when I see Shearer calling for his resignation, the hypocrycy stinks. Shearer whilst one of Newcastle and Englands top role models, smashed Neil Lennon in the face delibrately and recieved a few match ban. It was a far more serious act of assault.

I thought the way that Shearer backed down after confronting Roy Keane was a remarkable piece of stopping extreme violence occuring.

It was but it happened on the pitch - there is no excuse for what is an unprecedented, totally un called for, moment of madness committed by an experienced, long serving Manager in the Technical area.

A technical area that a player isn't allowed in. Whether something happens on or off the pitch is irrelvant if it a delibrate assault. Pardew is wrong and should be punished, my argument is the hypocricy of Shearer calling for Pardew to be sacked. Shearer being a player and captain of England had a much larger role model responsibility than Pardew imho. Short memory. Perhaps he is little jealous that someone like Pardew can get a little more out of crap platyers than he ever did.
Yeah but it was Neil Lennon
Agree, too much holier than thou stuff coming out of these pundits, saw Souness was at it saying he should be sacked which seemed rather inappropriate for a fellow member of the managers brigade... punish him yes but he doesn't deserve to be crucified...Pardew was a complete idiot but it wasn't a real head butt after all.
what if the player had been black?!
I think this is a storm in a teacup . It's a very expensive " headbut " at £100k and not even a very good one. Move on .Its providing a very good platform for the self righteous tv pundits to sit on too.
Surprised a few pundits have called for him to be sacked, maybe he's rubbed them up the wrong way in the past. Didn't Clough punch a fan once? We all laughed at that
It was during a pitch invasion!
I think he should be sacked, how can he command discipline of his own players?
So if you run on the pitch against say Stevenage after we've gained promotion you won't mind Warbs/Westley clumping you? It's upto to Newcastle to decide if he can still do his job
I'd be gutted but I would be breaking the law and accept it.
If a high profile and respected Manager in the city earning £1M + a year was captured punching another companies employee on the dealer floor, would he expect to keep his job, especially after having form for previous less serious but public misdemeanors.
