Should be a corker. I was at the Hamed fight in Vegas when he was torn apart by Barerra. He (Barrera) was an awesome fighter back then and was clearly not impressed with Hamed's magic carpet antics. Expect much the same this time around. Isn't Khan in a higher division though?

It was a good performance by Khan. I'd predicted that he'd win on points (Scratchy raising eyebrows) but I thought he'd be too fast and Barrera wouldn't have the one punch power to capitilise on Amir's dodgy chin.

I loved it, I heard he was blaming Brits of being racist and that is why his career hadn't progressed as fast as he would like. I was listening to the radio yesterday morning and some guy was saying he didn't agree with that and didn't know why he said it. It was his Dad!! :D

His Dad also said Khan had some growing up to do. Amen to that.

In the post fight interview Khan described his new trainer as a father figure. Trouble at home methinks.

I dont think Hatton is a superstar, nor indeed Calzaghe - despite what the won, the British public hardly saw their fights and most people around the world, apart from true boxing fans, will have heard of them.

The truth is he has been seduced by the much bigger pay days in US and doesnt want to say that.
Every second sentence was 'Khan Promotions Company'.

I hope it works for him but he had someone at his fight that went a similar route - Prince Naseem -and what happened to him?

Wished my mate Duke Mckenzie a Happy Birthday today and he has invited me up for the Amir Khan fight in New York on the 15th of May.
He is spending a week up there as he is commentating on the fight for ITV

Last time I went to Madison Square Gardens was for the drawn bout between Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis back in 1999.

think the original still has to be declared a "no-contest" for that second part to be true, bees66. and that hasn't happened.

hope Khan hasn't let all this distract him from the fact that if he'd whooped the other guy, the whole rigmarole would be moot :) no doubt Peterson will be determined to come out and show that his "win" was no fluke first time round....

Just got his arse kicked by Garcia., Stopped in the fourth. Khan had a good first round but didn't recover from a third round hook, which sent him down.

Three standing 8 counts later and it was all over. :wave:

I think this goes to show that there are many many very good fighters all over the world. When we get someone half decent we think that by getting a 10 and 0 record fighting at York Hall makes them WORLD CLASS.
Nothing wrong with losing, but we do over hype our boxers. I like Khan, he has been exciting to watch and has been good for British boxing, but he is just short of the mark when it comes to the world scene.

The fella got lucky , a over the top swinging punch, bounced off his shoulder hit him back of the jaw, didnt even look where he was landing it, the bum got lucky. Move over BARRY , is there room for KHAN in the studio.

Same as you mate, The difference was garcia could take what Khan threw at him. You are going to get hit at this level, and Khan cannot (or could not) absorb the shots. His training camp had his sparing partners knocking him out, what is that all about?

Khan is chinny. If he gets hit on the button he'll go down .This is something that cannot be rectified.

Freddie Roache can only do so much in shoring up his defences, but as this level you will always have to be able to take a good shot and unfortunately khan can't.

I think Garcia has saved Khan the embarassment of being absolutely outclassed by Mayweather (if that would ever had happened)
