Andy Frampton v Paddock
My take on it was that the players were applauding us for putting up with what we'd just seen. There was no air of celebration about it whatsoever. And if some idiot in the Paddock (or anywhere) does a ****er sign at Framps, then it's fine by me if Framps gets the arse about it. As has been said, there was no deliberate attempt to ignore the Paddock.
Spot on Ed. The players were embarrassed by the result and their aknowledgement of the supporters seemed more by way of apology than anything else. Brooker said a totally unprovoked "sorry" to us as he left the ground.
Frampton led the crusade right from the start yesterday; for most of the game it wasn't effort that was lacking but tactics and application. At the end of a despairing 90 minutes he then tries to do the right thing, gets a good response from many of the supporters (who felt that the team had put in a reasonably valiant effort but eventually succumbed to circumstances) but then meets up with abuse as he enters the tunnel.
I don't care how much some of you claim you have spent to attend the game - it does not give you the right to give it large and then expect no negative reaction from a fellow human being.
Were these the same morons who called Dyke a f**kin c**t as he tried to explain the situation to the fans in the forecourt?
Everyone gets hyped up because we all care passionately about our club - but let's keep a bit of civility as we try to move onwards and upwards from this low point.
