Andy, a well known Bees fan, has today won the Wheelchair Doubles at the French Open tennis. He's now done the Grand Slam, winning the title at all 4 Slams.

Well done Andy. An excellent year for you on the court, and off it, with the Bees' promotion!

Great achievement but he's always more West Ham than us. I wonder what he will do now we are in the same league.

Is this the Andy that was set upon by Sheffield Wednesday “fans” at their place, after the game, some
years ago ?

Me and Andy went to school and Brentford together since we were 8yo. He grew up in Hayes then Ruislip and played for Feltham Bees disabled team as a kid. We were season ticket holders for years and did home and away from our mid teens till I stopped around 21yo in 2012 for other commitments. So as he didn’t have a regular to go with he started attended West Ham more with his dad (East Londoner) and other mates and eventually got his season ticket there. Commercial/Sponsor decisions have made it valuable to go heavy on West Ham over social media in last few years as much as I try and talk him out if it. But trust me Brentford are still very close to his heart and he was gutted not to be able to get back from France for the final, but it did mean I got his ticket, so every cloud ?… and yes Sheffield United are a bunch of scummers. Luckily his CP meant he didn’t take it too heavy on the chin and just dropped ?

Yes, United it was of course - Have never been so reviled against other teams supporters than I was that night - absolute scum ?
Same here we arrived seconds after while he was still getting up, no Blunts intervened or even helped him. Scum

He’s also won the Quad Wheelchair Men’s Doubles at Wimbledon today after being knocked out of the singles competition yesterday.
Great win today, good quality match. Him and Wagner are the only pair to have won all 4 Grand Slams. Tough lines in the singles in a 3 setter where he had to battle back from match point at 2-5 in the 2nd. Has found it tough during the pandemic and in all honesty has been getting beat comfortably by the two in the singles final (straight sets since 2019). But yesterday was a real boost and hopefully a platform back to the big singles glory in the not too distant future. Will show him this thread and pass on the support. ?

There were some real moments of quality in his match v Schroder yesterday and as you say it will hopefully give Andy a big push in the singles competitions in the future.

Scrhroder is an excellent young player who will likely win many Slams in the future and I’m sure Andy will be pleased he pushed him well into the third set.
