How the feck could he drop Sam Wood after last week!lol

The guy is a fool.

I do not understand this either, he was the one who got us going last week. Seriously why has he got in another right winger!! He got Adams in after chasing him for months, he aint gonna do anything unless a manager shows a bit of faith in him. Scott seems to make his mind up on players extremely quickly and is very very quick to discard players.

Too true.

Sam's energy was sorely missed. He helped Spillane defend and his drifting in helped our useless central pairing.

Stupid decision indeed. Unfortunately it was one of his many hat stand choices that also didn't pay off today.

Our central pairing arent useless we just dont play to their strengths. They have all scored goals at previous clubs which suggests/proves there is something wrong with us not them.

Andy Scott

quite a few supporters had the same opinion then as now. his past is the past, it's now that matters, he cannot manage players, especially if they don't perform as he thinks they should do. Ask Spillane........................... ;)

To slate him now is one thing, but to start slagging off what he achieved in the past with us is another. I mean, its like saying in 1955

'Winston Churchill is a terrible prime minister, he must go... He is doing awfully now, and as such I now believe that we won WWII ugly, and should have stuck with Chamberlain all along'

Having a dig at AS for this season is one thing, but slating him for what he has done in the past (saving us from non-league, winning us promotion, keeping us in League 1) is completely disingenuous. By all means people have the right to be unhappy this season and criticise him on this season alone, and I will not criticise those who are unhappy with him. But to now backtrack and start criticising him getting us promoted is... well, indefensible.

Charlie has had difficulty finding the mark this season, and I think he needs to step up to the mark and start scoring. But if I criticise him, I will criticise him the way he is playing now, not start slating the 2 seasons that he was top scorer for us.

Central midfield B4L.

Andy Scott

Actually, I said that at the beginning of the season. I think he started to lose it by not giving those players the respect they should have had.

He doesn't command respect he demands it.
The board will be seen as spineless if they don't act, no more Scottisms pleas.

Andy Scott

Yes because somebody else could have come in and done it with the players he had at his disposal...Rhodes , Clarke and James Wilson to name 3.

He likes to be Mr Ruthless, now it's his turn to be on the other end

As much as I feel it's time for AS to go I don't think we should tarnish what he has achieved for us. I dare say other managers could have achieved the same with the likes of Rhodes, Clarke etc at their disposal but we need to remember it was AS who persauded those players to come here.

As for the argument that we'd have been a lot further down the table last year were it not for Chesney, give AS some credit for bringing him in and also think how much higher we might have been had Chsney been here from start of last season.

I'm pretty sure that AS was the person who got all those players to sign on loan, he didn't inherit them from Butcher, so surely they have to be counted as a part of his own good work?

You deal in hypotheticals, whereas the cold hard facts say that AS got us promoted. If you want to slate our current season, do so, but lets not retrospectively criticise or put a downer on what was a fantastic promotion season.

Andy Scott

Starter for ten.

" I hope he's always successful as he won't find many friends on the way back down?" was said by whom about whom?

Andy Scott

Terry butcher about Andy Scott

or Mark Stimpson about AS

?????????????????????

.........................I have refrained from the debate for long enough because I thought he deserved a fair crack of the whip, but after todays debacle he has lost my backing.............his substitutions once again appeared irrational,I fail to understand his logic.........................and as for team formations....give me strength..............the team looks as if it is lost...............I see no leadership on the pitch, and hear no vocal leadership............................something is severely wrong within the camp and it must be reversed .............I went to every league game last season and have missed Carlisles match as the only one this season and it is now strikingly obvious there is a difference of footballing interpretation between Scott and his team..................

Andy Scott

We are a disorganised rabble with some players putting in cameo performances. We started well up front but the defence looked ill at ease against their attack.I just dont feel we gel as a team even though we have some good players amongst them.Whose fault is that? Sod the paint trophy, somehow we got to get up that league, if it means sacking the manager,so be it.

This, from a man of few words !!

Says it all really !

Andy Scott

Sounds like he's given up on the Radio London interview.

He's gonna have to go or GP200 will break the world full stop record.

Andy Scott

Not many times (actually never) that I have said this but he has been given too much money. The dropping of Wood today was the last straw for team morale.
Interesting article in one of the nationals this week on Alan Sugar's time as chairman of Spurs, he said of George Graham that he kept listening to him and other board members "I only need another 5 players" well he gave Graham the chance to buy 10 players and he still didn;t do it. Sugar said that he should have then said to Graham "well you asked for 5 and I gave you 10 and still you are not getting results, perhaps you are not really a very good manager"
Step up MB

Substitutions have been a shambles also, today he didn't know who to drop into right hand side after bringing off spilanne, first Forster then Marcus.....a complete mess:wave:

Andy Scott

Would AS be better off resigning & stating some differences with the players rather than waiting for the sack? Would it give him a better chance of another job? or will he cling on till the end?

Andy Scott

If any Andy Scott supporter can explain to me the Spillaine substitution today then maybe I'd think about him having more time as a preferred option. As it stands I am becoming more and more baffled by what it is he's doing and looking at the team 'formation' for the last 10 minutes, I don't think I'm the only one

He was injured

If you want to go down the Butcher road. TB stated that he knew nothing about lower league football or the players ( does beg the question why Dyke was in raptures about him even calling him a "HIGH CLASS MANAGER", but that's another story.
So on the recommendation of Scott, Butcher signed John Mackie and lee Thorpe, the former actually had his contract cancelled by mutual consent wasting even more money. So his signings were just as bad in those days as there were in our first season in League One.
I don't see the point in banging on about the past, it's the now that matters

Cling on, cos as every month passes another big lump hits his bank account.

Andy Scott

No, I'm being a c*nt and should keep quiet, I'm angry after that and should keep my gob shut.

It was our dear friend AS about our other dear freind from Gillingham I believe:fishing:

I dont want to go on about the past. I was the one that was saying by all means judge him on the crappy now, but dont retrospectively downgrade his success with the club in the past.

Andy Scott

Fair enough. I take it that you may have some inside knowledge but even so, please explain the substitution - not only who came off but wtf sort of formation we were supposed to be playing as a consequence
The formation he uses is get as many people down the left side and hoof it to Weston as soon as possible
Dont worry if you give him hopeless balls to chase.
Scott will b***ock him

Andy Scott

Do tell...

AS said it about Mark Wright - accused Wright of bullying players two year ago.
Up to Shrewsbury in the promotion season we were going nowhere - Jordan
Rhodes's goals were the main reason we got up. Goalscoring has been a problem in all three seasons under AS (excluding the Rhodes era)

The decision to drop Wood today was unbeleivable and Grabban was plainly
not match fit - it'll take him three or four weeks to get that fitness by when
Millwall will want him back or AS's predecessor will not want him.

I've never known a Brentford manager to have such licence to bring in players or to shelve players after such a short period of time. I am normally
supportive of KOC but after today would not worry if I never saw him, Dave or Bean in a Brentford shirt again - absolutely dreadful. What does Hunt have to do to get a game ?

Alexander didnt warm up properlu before the match and never does pre second half warm up - why doesnt AS tell us if the bloke is strugglinh with
an injury because if he isnt he is another very poor signing.

Finally where was Pim ?

"Oldham did their jobs for 90 minutes," explained Scott. "They didn't panic when they went a goal down.

"They persevered.

"They believed in what they were doing.

"They worked hard, stuck with it.

"That's why they won the game.

"And it's because we didn't do that that we lost."

Maybe its because they KNEW what they were supposed to be doing

I sincerely hope Scott is worried about his job.
He is making a pigs ear of this team.
Managers of smaller clubs would do marvels with this squad.
He has wasted so much money.
Ibet he lies in bed thinking we need a right winger .
For Gods sake Scott go
