Another midfielder??

Any ideas how much longer Pratley's out for.. ?

We haven't been playing well for a while now and it always seems to be the midfield that's letting us down. We haven't really played that well since Pratley got injured (apart from the odd half)

Newman's been very disappointing after some great performances early on and Hutch just ain't good enough despite his 100% effort. Lewis has had one good half and we have to pay him every time he plays, so MA seems reluctant to play him

Is it perhaps worth us getting another loanee midfielder in for a month say just to try and see us through a difficult period of fixtures?

If it means Hutch wont play, pay the wages anyway.

I think we need another right winger. Brooker is either injured / not fit enough / sh*t (delete as applicable) and there is no cover. Perhaps Dobbo at right back and Kev back to his old position?

Much to Northampton Bee's probable surprise I agree, there's not a lot of point in playing Brooker if he needs an op and although I think he's capable of a lot better he hasn't been playing well last few games.. However, there's no way I'd have Kev on the right wing, he's our first choice right back and should stay there.. Either we get someone in, put Rankin there or maybe bring Dobbo back and play him there, he is one of the best crossers at our club, though lacking somewhat in pace..

We desperately need to sort out the centre though, Newman seems a different player when playing with Pratley. With anyone else he looks appalling, is it just Pratley making him look good or the others making him look sh*t?? It's a shame cos he's prob too young but Ryan Watts looked just the sort of player we need in the youth game the other night, comfortable on the ball, able to make space for himself and pass it FORWARD to a bees player..

Surely we can do a deal with someone just for a month or so until the squad fills out? Or perhaps another pay-as-you-play deal?

Its not "the others" that make him look sh*t, its just Eddie. I seem to recall a fairly decent performance when we had Newman and Lewis together recently.

Mind you, with Eddie as their partner even Gerrard or Lampard would probably look sh*t.

The best thing MA can do is let him have the operation not wait for Rhodes to come back. Rather see someone else in his position until he is fixed up and people can see what a good player he is,............................................. fully fit ( and NO I am not his mum, agent or relative )

over 3 games where one has come on as sub, they've played just 45 mins together.

so unless you mean the 15 mins at Tranmere where we were already 4-1 up, i don't think you do remember correctly.

they are too similar, however if Hutch has been elevated to 'attacking midfielder' then we are in trouble

only consolation of the defeat yesterday was Hutch being suspended. effort will only get you so far - and with Eddie that is still not far enough.

I'm afraid I have to correct you, the pass for the goal yesterday was made by Kevin O'Connor.

As far as I can recall for a box to box midfielder Hutch has to date scored 2 goals this season and made Sodje's goal at Bradford. I cannot remember any other assists.

strongly agree with this.
tabb is our best creative player and particularly in this week's
vital games against forest and huddersfield we need him
to be at the centre of the action

hopefully it will prompt an improved performance from newman also
