Can You See The Real Me?

Anthony Joshua

Another good display tonight. His career seems to be going in the right direction, I really hope that he can push on and get a heavyweight belt.

Anthony Joshua

He appears to have everything required to make it to the very top of his profession.
It will be interesting when he fights an opponent who throws something of note back at him to test his jaw.
He conducts himself fantastically well in and out of the ring.
A very, very exciting prospect who should win a belt (British) by the end of the year.

I was hoping David the big scouse lad and who had a surname that I can't think of was going places but sadly that has gone very wrong, both likeable chaps who I would enjoy seeing rule the world.

David Price. :sorted:
I still rate him with his power but he clearly has confidence issues.
A saw him & Fury as the future of British heavyweights but I reckon Joshua might eclipse them both.

Anthony Joshua

Not sure how AJ loses that.....as everyone expects

Anthony Joshua

Not sure where he goes from here really…

The chance to fight someone like Fury has slipped away.

Anthony Joshua

100% outclassed

Also, his little tantrum and speech was f***ing embarrassing. Like WWE
Think this defeat will inspire him, Usyk can be beaten with the body shots , never seen him so unsettled so let the dust settle and I don’t think Usyk will be so keen to match up with AJ again, Fury will only play for big ££££££££££££££££ oh I’m retired ?

Anthony Joshua

Joshua should have fought fury lost twice and cashed out being part of one of the greatest heavy weight unification fight ever (well that’s what Sky would have been telling us anyway)

Inspire him to leave boxing and throw himself into the lynx adverts full time?
If you can't inspire yourself to beat a light heavyweight that's 3 years older, less height reach and weight over 2 fights then I really doubt anything will inspire him ever again, there's not a chance in hell they'll fight for a third time, Usyk is a far superior boxer, and has bigger fish to fry now, it was clear from AJs after fight sh*t show that he'd probably be better off getting some councilling rather than pulling on some gloves again and hoping he could beat Usyk by using body shots.
Maybe he could be the big pull for "I'm a celebrity get me out of here"

Anthony Joshua

How many fights will it take for him to get another shot and being thought of as highly as he was before losing to Ruiz? If he is even capable of reaching that level again? And how much of a physical toll will that have on him?

IMO he should retire. Doesn’t need to make more money and his career has peaked. Trying to prove otherwise carries significant risks to his health.

Usyk has never fought at light heavyweight. Only a 25lbs difference between that and the cruiserweight division that he cleared up in. Look how easily he knocked out world champion Tony Bellew… I’m not a Joshua fan but you are hating on the guy with a warped view. Usyk is a generational talent, a very special boxer. No shame in losing to that. At least Joshua showed up this time with a big set of nuts. Could have gone in a different direction and pretended the money wasn’t right, but he fought him straight away after a embarrassing beat down in the first fight. He deserves a bit of respect, ignoring the very cringy rant where his true colours finally came out!

Anthony Joshua

This thread is stressing me out being in the football world section. Bit tetchy after yesterday n all, can a mod move it please ?

Anthony Joshua

AJ's comeback fight tonight.
He'll win but will he impress?

Come on big lad ! ??

Anthony Joshua

First Round. Pedestrian.
Nothing ventured from AJ.

Anthony Joshua

Second Round.
Better.
Franklin being slowed up by those black bar towels tucked into his shorts.

Anthony Joshua

I don't think we're getting that ko.
Which leaves him in limbo a bit.

Step it up AJ !

Anthony Joshua

Maybe this is proving AJ doesn't have the power any more ?
He's hitting but not affecting his opponent

Anthony Joshua

Overall. Joshua won.
But not sure where it takes him.

Hardly emphatic against a fighter apparently a class below

Anthony Joshua

Comfortable points win for AJ.

118-111
117-111 x 2

When a boxer like Joshua chooses to join the celebrity circuit you know he’s gone soft .. you never saw Mike Tyson having a staged ring walk and having a little dance to a song on a stage before getting in the ring! .. I miss the World Heavyweight scene from the 80’s when there were loads of proper top heavyweight boxers (mostly American) .. will we ever see another Mike Tyson type fighter again?

Anthony Joshua

I think his loss to Ruiz did something to him mentally and he is now afraid to let his shots go which is what got him to a heavyweight world title. I have no doubt Fury beats him comfortably and probably knocks him out.

I think this is spot on. He seems reluctant to let the big booming right go now.

Anthony Joshua

He’s too wary of his own chin now. Not sure he’ll every get that confidence back again. Maybe he’ll be a bit more comfortable against fighters closer to his height who don’t get inside him so easily, who knows. Cheers for being cautious though Mr Joshua…

Anthony Joshua

He's happier being a "star" rather than a boxer now. And like others have said his confidence has been rocked to the core. He "should' be putting people away like Franklin with a KO. Fury woildmbe daft not to take the fight, he's also a clown and dodged the Usyk fight because he knows he would have got schooled. But he beats AJ if they fight.

Anthony Joshua

I can't stand him and a bang average boxer too. When fighting anyone half decent, he doesn't have the ability to finish the fight when in control.

Another awkward microphone moment too!

Meh.

Anthony Joshua

him and fury are both apologies for boxers...him a pretty boy, and fury a flabby fraud

Anthony Joshua

It’s all about opinions, but anybody who thinks Tyson Fury is a fraud has one that I really cannot understand.

Fury beats Usyk. I don’t care for the politics around making that fight, but Usyk loses it if it happens.

I would put my house on Fury, Wilder or even Joyce stopping Joshua before the mid rounds.
He no longer has the hunger or ruthlessness required to succeed at the top level of boxing.
