Any Refereeing need doing?

I go away in about 6 weeks time, and would like to offer services to anyone who may need a referee (for football - obviously ;) ) to help raise a little extra spending money..

For games in Bracknell, Wokingham areas on Saturdays, and anywhere that is covered on the South West Trains line on Sundays with 1030 kick offs or later.

Already booked are Saturday fixtures:

28/01
11/02
18/02
03/03

I suspect you wll have more success if you register with the local leagues and FA's and then they can appoint you to matches, this way it will be official and you should be covered by insurance. Someone has mentioned the East Berks but you could look at the North East Hants Youth League and also the Southern Youth League (Binfield, Bracknell, Camberley) who do midweek evening matches, they also appoint Assitant Referees for the SYL games.

Anyone done the course recently? £130 seems a lot but I'm quite keen on it...cheers

Its is quite steep - When I did it, it cost me about £10 - nearly 11-12 years ago.

But apparently it now involves you having to referee x amount of matches with an assessor overlooking. Not sure if you get paid for them, but if you do you earn some of it back straight away.

Be fair, if you referee mens Sunday morning games, you would earn that back after 4 games or so. The u15's and 16's I do pay £25 a game - and I could have 2 of them on a Saturday morning a week if I'm lucky taking up about 2.5-3 hours on a Saturday morning.
