If anyone can work out why my return journey from Gloucester is double the price of that from London, go for it. Or if any of you clever bods can find me a good train price, I will be a happy

I see £32.57, or £34.10 on a couple of split fare sites for Gloucester to Witton return. Not sure if that is a good price though.

Travel very affordable for this one... as low as £9 if you can deal with a change on the way out or £11.50 to go direct from Marylebone on the outbound

Basically the normal price. I swear we never get these deals on this side of the country

Not sure if they still do it, but used this previously through Aston Villa parking for £10:00:

Deykin Avenue Junior & Infant School Park & Walk (18 MIN WALK) - OPENS 3HRS BEFORE KO, CLOSES 1HR AFTER FINAL WHISTLE​

Star City. Make sure you park within any lines. They don't (or didn't used to) charge for parking but apparently they're intolerant of poor parking.
