Aston Villa

Walking back to Witton Station and hearing variously about how upset they were that they lost to 10-man tin-pot Brentford who are rubbish and how the result is all part of some shadowy conspiracy by the "Big Six" (tm) clubs to keep Villa in their place, amongst other things.

It always amazes me that to their fans these clubs are big when they want them to be, but if a decision goes against them it's a conspiracy.
I'm also talking about you Leeds and Forest fans.

in a perverse way Schade getting sent off.
1. He will have learnt a big lesson
2. It forced us to put in a defensive performance like no other team has put in this season.
3. It showed how good a coach KA and his team are.

Got chatting to some Villa fans before the game in the Yewtree pub. I asked them if they'd take a point. Oh how they laughed. I should have asked if they'd
take a point playing against a 10 man Brentford team for an hour. Imagine the hilarity.

The big bouncer at the Yewtree pub, held his hand out as I arrived at the door, didn't say a word, just held his hand out. I shook hands with him and he pulled his hand back and just said......£3 to get in.

In that case I'd like to propose Matti Jensen fighting through two challenges on 41:15, to get the ball up to Schade. If Matti had been out-muscled we would all have missed out on that huge learning opportunity.

Aston Villa

The massive Polish lads giving everyone in earshot a lesson in slavic obscenities, especially the dog's abuse they gave fellow countryman Matty Cash.
They didn't hold back did they 😂 At one point I thought about having a word with them to tone down their language, but I thought it was not the best of ideas! 🤣

Final Whistle. Very tense afternoon. Maidenhead Utd Women v Swindon Town Women at Burnham FC. Swindon Town with their 100% league season, so far, now trailing 1-0 to the Magpies who are staging a desperate rear-guard action. In the bar, the 10 brave soldiers of Brentford FC are also mounting a valiant campaign against the high-flying Villans, to protect a precious one goal advantage. I'm in and out the bar like a man with issues, distributing my anxiety evenly between the two causes. Outdoors, after an eternity, the ref blows the whistle to signal Swindon's first dropped points of the season. Wild scenes ensue, but I have to wait indoors, for a further excruciating 5 minutes before I can heave a huge sigh of relief and neck the rest of my pint in double celebration.

One about 7 foot tall and another with 'Polish Lads' or summat on his back? I followed them towards Star City, stuffing bees scarf in pocket as I passed 😬

I can still remember a time when Villa played in the old 3rd Division back in the early 70s. I was only a teenager then, but still, all this chat about them being a top 6 team, does make me laugh, at times.

Aston Villa

All the 😭 From the Villa fans on X and various other places since Sunday.

Aston Villa

The “we only had ten men” song at the end as the villa fans streamed out next to us.
I remember consecutive wins away at Bournemouth and Crewe in 1994, where we had a man sent off in both games.

"We've only got 10 men" in the first game became "we only need 10 men" in the second!

Ajer’s collection of blocks and tackles throughout. Also striding forward purposefully and delivering the ball that led to the goal.

Personally, sneaking onto the Marylebone train an hour early (forgot the 2pm KO time when booking). I paid for it when a family of 4 adults, a pushchair and a baby got on. There were only 2 seats, so they played a combination of ‘pass the parcel’ and ‘musical chairs’, all the way to London.
Arrived on the platform at Marylebone, adjacent to my outgoing train back to Northolt Park. It left 3 minutes later, so I was home a good 2 hours earlier than I expected!

They were behind me at Everton - same thing and I was not about to ask them to keep it down as they are huge chaps

The WHOLE day….for once a tremendous away day wasn’t ruined by the 90mins inbetween 🥳🍺🍺🍺🙌🏼🙌🏼

On a personnel note making the train to Witton after getting lost from the bullring tavern and having to run through the shopping centre to make the train by seconds to spare….we cleared a real path 👀😳🫣😂😂😂

Great scenes at full time too 💪🙌🏼

A great reintroduction to live football after 10 weeks away from it 🥳

I think the black country muat be flooded by now with the amount of tears cried by those Yam Yams over the last few days.
All i can hear is "attacking phase" and "conclusive" over and over 🤣🤣

Aston Villa

Listening to the away fans, especially the first half. Constant noise and a variety of songs.

Think it’s one of the loudest I’ve heard on the tele, just a shame commentators aren’t in a rush to applaud it as they are when a “big” club do it

I actually enjoyed the VAR ruling on Tammy Abrahams shot on target
Leon Bailey knew exactly what he was doing and the cheating git got caught and rightly so.
VAR decision of the season without a doubt.

I believe these were the same lads we stood behind at Leicester last season. Proper handful and very funny. Polski bees 👍👍
