Have done a few Fulham away games as part of my sports photography apprenticeship.

Do you get any shower shots. Fulham ladies would be better served for your apprenticeship if that was the case.

He probably wanted to move Southall there, who have also since gone bust.

and of course the last game at home to Reading was 11303

That game could have sold 20,000 plus if GP could have held it. 6000 Reading fans applied for tickets, with demand from home areas at an amazing level also.

The crowds are there if we are within site of actually winning things.

It's all glory hunters at Craven Cottage, though, isn't it? They still take the same number to away games that they did when they were in Division 3.

Very true.

Friends tell me they dont even bother going to home games all the time as they are fed up with people who know nothing about football, and not singing!

No they don't - they take far more - although perhaps poor by Premiership standards. Have done a few Fulham away games as part of my sports photography apprenticeship. They don't sing as loud as us though!

Are they registerred? to get priority on away glamour ties?

I think everyone was getting sh*t gates in the mid-1980s. Football was in crisis and rampant hooliganism was keeping people away. Italia 90, Gazza's tears and the death of Route One, combined with hooliganism going out of fashion and the police getting a proper grip on it, as opposed to treating all fans as animals, a policy forced on them by the Hillsborough disaster, led to the renaissance of football and the return of fans. I think there were seasons in the 1980s when Brentford averaged under 4,000 and had gates for some League games under 2,000.

I agree with the general premise, but our crowds didn't fall quite that low in the 1980's. I think the lowest was 2,800 odd for an end of season match with Darlington in about 85/6 ish. Our record lowest gate is 2,024(?) against Walsall in our early days in the league

I was at that 2800 darlington game ... last game of the season 1986 absolutely nothing to play for - brook road had just been demolished - and i think a team of reserves/youngsters played. We did win 2-1 though
