Serena Williams did a "Federer" on Maria Sharapova in the Ladies Final. That was an incredible display that reduced the world's number one to the stature of a total novice. Williams' service yesterday would have given most men a problem to handle at 126 mph.

Roddick looked a broken man by the end.

Federer said that was the best he's ever played. "I was fantastic". "I've played good matches here, but never really almost destroyed somebody"

Roddick said "It was frustrating. You know, it was miserable. It sucked. It was terrible. Besides that, it was fine"

The way Gonzalez mullered Haas you could be fooled into thinking he at least might be competitive with Federer, but alas I think not.

Straight sets methinks. 7-6, 6-1, 6-4 best case !!

Except that Gonzalez has done that in this tournament to Rafael Nadal, James Blake and Lleyton Hewitt too. Maybe we will have a contest for a change?
