I don't think Henman has a chance, if he gets past his second round opponent he will have to face the winner of the Phillapoussis -Rusedski clash.

Australian Open

What, and you think Henman can't beat Rusedski?

He has beat them both in the last 10 days so I don't think that will be an impossible task

I think Sampras at 16-1 at the beginning of the tournament was good value, especially when Agassi pulled out and Hewitt now out.

Australian Open

Excellent win for Rusedski last night in straight sets also, big blow for Aussie tennis with Hewitt out, and Rafter not playing. Shame Henman-Rusedski have to meet so early, have Sky the rights to the Aussie Open ? Is any channel showing this game -

Prediction - Rusedski to win in 4 sets

Australian Open

Henman was in top form to get through, he will beat Rudeski. It is probably going to be on Eurosport. I have not seen it on Sky.

They were about the right odds for Sampras at the start of the AusOpen. He is deffo past his best. I was at the final of the US Open in NYC last september and it was amazing how he seemed to give up on it when Hewitt got the edge on him. He just didn't seem to have the same killer shots and determination of years gone by.

An aside to this - the Yanks have very short memories of what Sampras had achieved as during that final they were shouting for Agassi ! T*****s !!!

Australian Open

Henman will not win. He will get to the Semis or the final and then blow it like he always does.

Australian Open

Must say very impressed with Henman. Really didn't think he would win given his substandard record in grand slam events other than Wimbledon. He should at least make the semi's now surely.

Australian Open

I think Hewitt was in his half of the draw so that is a bonus. Plays Jonas Bjokman in the next round. He is unseeded but has beaten two seeds.

Australian Open

The draw is very open for Henman and he should really be making it to the final, considering the likely opposition and how well he is currently playing.

If he manages to get to the final Safin os Sampras will probably be the opposition. Sampras seems to have a bit of a hold on Henman.

This is all hyperthetical though.

I am certainly not underestimating Jonas Bjorkman, but Henman should definately beat him.

Todd Martin was knocked out last night.

Henman has been crushed in three sorry sets by Jonas Bjorkman. Whilst Bjorkman is a solid player this is one match Henman should have won, the guy is totally overated. Henman has not progressed to the quarter final of any grand slam event barring Wimbledon and his weak serve let him down again when the pressure was on.

Australian Open

I watched the first set and Henmann was sh*te. A big dissapointment after his earlier stuff y o y o spells yoyo but what was he doing staying at the baseline instead of going to the net.

Well done Thomas Johansson for coming from a set down to beat Marat Safin 3-6 6-4 6-4 7-6 (7-4) to win his first Grand Slam title.
Johansson got magnificent support from a small vociferous swedish group of fans that cheered from first minute to last but in a sporting way i.e. not during points. Safin in the post match interview really showed what a sportingly nice guy he is. Thanks to Safin I also realised why it's so handy to have a good quality freeze frame video as Safin had 3 blonde female supporters which we all got a glimpse of whenever he won a game; one of them was wearing a very revealing top which with the aid of clapping revealed a wonderful pair of tits

. Honestly though I was interested in the tennis!
