Season ticket holders money keeps the club afloat over the summer. FACT.

No one is denying that however it is still an 'unfair' system that an individual can get preferential treatment on away games (without attending one other all season). However someone like me (god i keep typing that) that goes to most games home and away could and probably would miss out

Why should someone like you get "preferential treatment" over season ticket holders? Some games are more popular than others - end of.

I don't think any system is fair if Bees fans miss out. I suggest some people should join AFC Bournemouth's membership scheme pretty soon, just in case. ;)

exactly, why should the minority get preferential treatment, the majority rules !!!

northantsbee bites too easily, love wind ups!

by the way i haven't got a season ticket. haven't had one since 1981, last time i was a junior!

still get to see THE BIG GAMES though ! Simply because you got to know the right people !!!

No arguement with that but what happens when there are less tickets than season ticket holders

I would have thought, as one at the 'coal face' on Black Monday, you would want a system that is as fair as possible.

You can't tell me this is it.

I firmly believe that the season ticket should be the first means of seperation, but in many cases that isn't enough.

Finding out who supports the club away is a good way of further differentiating is it not?

I haven't read this whole thread.... but my whole final year project was on exactly this... a system which rewarded loyalty....

Lots of issues - but one real life example are being used by clubs like Bolton, Palace and Millwall... Its called Teamcard ...

Basically its a loyalty card like Nectar, but for the football club. I guess the club doesn't have the infrastructure to be able to host such a scheme though :(

The good thing about it though is it records every match attended...

Why?

What about those that (e.g.)
1) sponsor players
2) are vice president members

I don't believe that one demonstrates one is "more loyal" than another bee just because you can sacrifice a whole saturday every other weekend. Season Ticket Holders have first dibs because (I guess) the club wants people to purchase season tickets. If they want to retain season ticket sales then they need to have a fair way of choosing between those season ticket holders IMHO - a draw would satisfy that. I can understand why those that travel away think they should have priority however.

However I do disagree with the policy of allowing season ticket holders to purchase more than one ticket before anyone else - this is plain wrong.

another thing to take into account is how far away people live from griffin park.for me to go to a game the time and costs would be much greater than someone living in ealing for example(and i live relatively close to the groud compared to some). so does the fact that i go to say 25 games a season make me a worse fan than someone who lives on braemer road but goes to say 35?

Away Registration

How about the club sells a loyalty card that grants you preferential treatment on away fixtures but also has some deals with local businesses on discounts or discounts on travel to away games. Only season ticket holders and away fans get the opportunity to join this exclusive club for a reasonable fee of about £30 but the exclusive club has a ceiling of 1000 members.

At those big games, loyalty club members have the first dib for an away fixture and then the usual sequence occurs.

That way you have a chance to buy your loyalty. I wouldn't bother because I don't go away but would others pay some additional cost to jump the queue?

the problem is who will administrate it? That'll be more cost for the club which it can't afford.
with obviously no money to put into a viable scheme, the club will just have to draw lots for games like Bournemouth etc where ticket availability is below the number of ST holders. If your drawn you get one ticket. Simple. Even JM god bless him could've done that right. (or could he?...) I have no ST but will still try to get to games by what ever means, what if i took out a loan note for £1000 or £5000 then i should be top of the list because i gave more.... you can't do it. End of story.

£30 joining fee pays for the admin.

I think if there are less than 2500 tickets available a ballot should take place. Like I've said earlier on, no system is fair when Brentford fans miss out on tickets.

so as well as paying for a ST, you've then got to fork out the saving you make buying a ST, for a card to give you first chance of a ticket. waste of time then in buying a ST. A ballot is the only way, thats a 'perk' of buying a ST, you get first crack at getting to see the bigger games. Even though i'm not a ST holder, its one of those things, if i could afford/justify a ST then i'd get one to put my name in the hat, but as i can only make 60-75% of homes and the odd 5 or 8 aways its not worth it. i take my chance in the last minute grab for the last tickets!

can anyone confrim if Lifeline members have more priority than others this season.. currently i am s/o holder and s/t holder, i will cancel the former and turn it into lifeline if there is more ticket getting chance, I think that is reasonable as I just know I am going to miss us clinching the title and Dean Court next year  plus I can win a holiday with Mr Gilham :sorted:

The theory is good, certainly much better than previously. Indeed, I believe that we also 'earn' 5% for our administration costs so helps the finances a little bit as well.

It was too late to bring in for the Huddersfield match, obviously.

Walsall on Tuesday week has not been mentioned.

However, to buy in advance you have to contact Walsall direct, this saves £2.00 per ticket.

BUT there is a £1.50 fee to cover credit card use and postage.

Therefore, you buy early to save £2 and it costs £1.50 with no record for the away ticket scheme!
