Watching Cobblers v Barnet last night, Barnet were the worst side I have ever seen for 60 mins and somehow won the game!
All game one lad stood out for Barnet a little bloke called Bailey, scored a brilliant winner (watch Sky) and showed immense pace all night. He sat in front of the back four mopping everything up and that jet propelled pace often meant he was the first one forward. He ran for 90 mins with or without the ball and basically won the game. If MA found him or knows of him surely he can tap him up and get him up a division. ;) ;)
Yakubu went off after 30 mins with a groin strain but isn't very tall and struggled up to that point and Grazioli was pretty pants apart from a superb ball for the 1st goal.
Be interesting to see if Bailey's goal come across on TV as it did live, all his own work and could we do with a solid tackling and pacy midfielder who snuffs out a lot danger and creates some?

Nicky Bailey

Nicky--Paul Fairclough’s first signing as Barnet Manager, from Sutton Utd in summer 2004
ex-19 year old Bookie from South London
Playing regularly on the right side of midfield, he apparently scored the Conference goal of the season last season vs Dag+Redbridge
Gained a call up to the England Semi-Pro team.

wouldnt Barnet love us even more, if we started poaching their players

Appears to be signed after MA. Fairclough is a very good talent spotter and a very good manager.

MA claims to know about every player in London but I guess dropping him a line wouldn't hurt.

yes - do it

Bailey

We could offer to let them groundshare with us next season as compensation ...

Bailey

Scored another decent goal yesterday.
I know teams just don't give their better players away but with the sad Oli news...

Bailey

We have no money and can't afford him but he has scored 3 in 3 from a defensive midfield berth. :(

Bailey

that's great. can we put this in the Football World forum? or the who gives a f*** forum? :sorted:

Another good spot Northamptonbee, i remember you singing the praises of Dave Nugent a year back...

He's let himself down though since he earned his big move! ;)

I don't think we are allowed to do this, Tree has told me not to mention it anymore. But I feel the need to say " I saw a good player last night....." but alas you must not. :(
However I said last year sign Nugent and we will go up and what I saw and have heard of a certain Mr. Bailey....... But we have no dosh and will not get any from the Carling Cup now so it is all bollox. :sorted:

make sure you let MA and John Griffin know instead of just posting on here ???

Bailey

Anyway, I'm told by a St holder at Barnet that he kept them up on his own.
I've seen the guy once and Leatherhat's mate rates him so could we spend 50k on a Newman with such pace, scores goals, passes, gets forward and has the speed to break up attacks.
He really was that good that night and his form seemed to carry on through the season. Oh yeah and he is young.:sorted:

Bailey

I reckon he'd be a good asset .John Griff's been trying to get hold of his dad Bill ,but hes never at home .

Bailey

When MA 1st game to the Bees didnt the fake bees say that he couldnt come back and poach a Barnet player?

Bailey

Did anyone notice his run and then flukey goal on Saturday?
2 goals already from midfield and keeping a sh!t side in with a chance of staying up on his own again.

Straight swap with Fitz or Brooker or both and what a midfield we would have.:sorted:

Get old Griffins memory jogged on this one, he could be a prize assett, along with the others we have acquired over the summer break :sorted:

lol
Think it will need to happen quick but with the budget going up every month i`m sure there`s plenty of dosh at GP really :nono: lol

Bailey

Never seen him play but I'd be happy for a swap deal involving Fizgerald or Willock; failing that Brooker

I'd be happy to swap Fitz, Willock and Brooker for a half-eaten cheese and pickle sandwich.

Bailey would be preferable though.

I CANNOT believe that you took the credit for 'spotting' Nugent NB lol

Who was the one that saw him do his bit against NTFC and extolled his virtues to you before the move to PNE? :nono:

As for letting himself down, what a load of :shake: The bloke will move to the Premiership and score some goals which ain't bad for someone who was plying his (early) trade at Bury only about 2/3 seasons ago. I'm not gonna say that he will be a star because that's a bit premature  but if you want me to put money on it then i'll say he'll have a full England shirt on his back by 2009

Did ok last night against the Posh, some passes cam off some didnt, seems a touch tackling midfield player. Looks young-ish

was rather impressed with the way Barnet pass the ball considering they have two big 6 footers up front.
