Ban the Drum

Ban the Drum

From memory, the question of 'instruments' at GP was included in a BIAS poll that covered all things Brentford and Lionel Road.

The club publicised the poll and it recieved over 1k responses. The overwhemling response was that Drums should be banned from GP. Im sure this was implemented too.

Hopefully @BIAS and @jmf will be on the case

I'm 98% sure I've seen "drums" listed on a "banned items at the GTech" thingy

That account is supposed to be satirical. It’s 0/10 funny.

Ban the Drum

I’ve heard drums recently at Palace, Leicester and Arsenal, are there any others doing it in the PL?

Atmosphere is one of the working groups which is run by the club and attended by BIAS. It ain't happening trust me.
I have always liked the "lead supporter" character that I have seen at Spanish games. It works well at Tenerife in their equivalent of the West Stand. He stands at the front with his back to the pitch with a megaphone and starts the songs. It sounds a bit pony but it works really well and a lot of noise is generated. I am always impressed that, should CDT go behind, he manages to get them singing even louder. It is a prestigious position, but an important one nevertheless. Anything's better than a drum or those on-screen prompts.

I absolutely resent this type of behaviour. Let's have recorded cheering through the speakers or flashing images on the big screen, to remind us to celebrate like sheep.

We'll all be dressing in black next.

I think it looks crap.

Arsenal are copying Palace with their little section with a drum all dressed in black. Weird.

Let's keep the GTech as it is.

I always wonder how they get so many nobs all sitting together at Arsenal. Surely it's fabricated by Arsenal?

careful mate. Any suggestions like this to improve atmosphere will be shot down immediately on gpg.

I’m all for Drum going into action if we’re losing after say, the 85th minute. As long as his mate Trumpet is alongside, and together they can then both throw the kitchen sink…

Not exactly. The chap I see only has to shout the first couple of words and everyone joins in or he does shout and response stuff. I have to confess that drums do feature not to mention a spot of pyro. I have also seen some brilliant tifos which you rarely see in the UK. I suspect I may be alone in making these helpful suggestions though.

PS - I don't think it is a parody account just well meaning but, in this case, misguided fellow Bees fans.

Remember going to Wycombe when they had a drum.

I dont wont to condone violence, but i did chuckle when leaving the ground and somebody put his head through it

My memory of Wycombe was even worse, a pre-recorded drum through the PA when they got a corner.
If it was being played live through the speakers I'm not sure if that's more or less tragic.

They look and sound utterly manufactured and pathetic

On reflection, I think I will make sure I take some KY jelly with me, in future, just in case there are any problems, inserting it.
