Banana's BU Election Statement
"I have been a supporter of the club since my first visit to the ground in 1948 and have been a season ticket holder and small shareholder in the club for almost 30 years. I have lived in the local area all my life
I have followed closely the fortunes of the Club both on and off the field during all this period and for many years have been present at the club's Annual General and Special Shareholder meetings, taking a particular interest in the financial position of the Club.
"During my career as a professional accountant I was involved in many businesses and gained considerable experience in dealing with companies that were in financial difficulties and in negotiations with Banks and other financiers. I have substantial experience of administrative and financial matters and of helping businesses through difficult financial periods.
"Since retiring from full time work I have gained additional experience as a Director and as a Trustee and have been involved in the management of businesses and Trusts in often quite difficult circumstances.
I have also been involved in the running and administration of local sports clubs and their facilities for more than 30 years, which has included many years of negotiating with Hounslow Borough Council.
"I feel that my various appointments as a Trustee have provided me with the necessary experience to properly look after the interests of the members of Bees United and to ensure that their funds, which have been loaned to the club, are properly administered
"I am fully conversant with company law and the legal duties placed upon a director and am used to working as part of a management team.
"Brentford FC has been though a traumatic time of late and still faces enormous challenges in the near future. If! am appointed as a director of the club my aim will be to use my experience and expertise to support the existing Board through this difficult period, as I believe that this is a time for consolidation and not further radical change within the Club.
"I believe that the current management of the Club has made considerable progress over the last 2 years and find myself in agreement with all of the major decisions that have Been made, both on and off the field.
"I am pleased to be able to have available to me both the time and the energy to be able to take an active part in managing the club and helping to take it forward."
