Barry Hampton RIP
My uncle Barry Hampton died yesterday prior to the Hartlepool match. Aged in his late 60s, he was a Bees supporter since his youth, along with his brothers and my grandad. Grew up in Heston, moved to Wraysbury, then to Bournemouth to be close to his family. Although he didn't come to many Bees games in the later years, he was a proper supporter who would have been very excited about the possibility of promotion this year. He was a real character who liked a drink, smoke and a bet on the horses. He had a few health problems recently and had a seemingly successful operation earlier in the year. He'd just got back from a holiday and was staying with friends, so it wasn't a bad way to go - he'd of hated to be stuck in hospital for any length of time. As I said, a real character and someone who was difficult not to like. Would be great to win promotion for him, but like a proper Bees fan he wouldn't of been surprised if we blew it. RIP Barry.
