Bees Player 2012

Its ok now , thanks ..... Solved re-registering problem - I'm set up for automatic renewal via direct debit - I thought I was but wasn't sure so I asked them via their email advice link - they replied telling me expiry was on 10th and that I had to renew via website .... after resetting my password to solve the access issue they thought I had (I didn't) and telling me to delete browser history in IE (again to remove password that I kept saying wasn't my problem - I currently have full access) they have finally changed their minds and admitted I am set up to renew automatically until further notice - all sorted via multiple email exchanges over 2 days ......... one phone call would have done it but that would mean talking to another human being .......

OH, AND NO PROBLEM TODAY with using Beesplayer ....... only thing I had to do was select the "Brentford" team option which used to already be selected and it switched on ommentary al;most immediately - no volume setting needed apart from on the pc. The scrolling text seemed to duplicate every update 4 times which was a bit irritating but at least but it did refresh automatically which used to be a problem sometimes.

Bees Player 2012

Normally takes a while to sign in and the sound cut out a couple of times, but apart from that I haven't had too many problems.

Bees Player 2012

Thinking about subscribing but not sure it will work on IPad or iPhone without adobe flash.Hobbsy you there

Beesplayer doesn't work on an iPhone or iPad. :(

There's no way around it. Only phones using Android system, IIRC, works with Beesplayer.

As long as the phone runs Android 4.0, as Luis says in a quote below, then it will run Beesplayer.

I'm not aware of other devices but know iPhones due to lack of FlashPlayer cannot receive The BeesPlayer Show.

Android 4.1 does not work but 4.0 does. 3.2 may work but I haven't tried it. If someone running that can try and report back.

I know that 2.3 does not work either and anything below this. Some Android phones will be upgrading to 4.0 at some stage.

Hope that helps. I know that 4.0 works as I listened to it on my phone on Tuesday.

Thanks Paul, was just looking for that info. Adobe have withdrawn Flash as from Android 4.1 so FL Interactive to get their arses in gear and update their system to use something else.

My Galaxy S2 is running 4.1, which I've rooted and upgraded, just about managed to get flash working without crashing and even then it was still fiddly and awkward to get to the BeesPlayer site.

My personal view is that the whole thing isn't really geared towards the mobile platform.

Android 4.1 (I believe it's called Jellybean) isn't compatible with Flash Player. My lad has a Nexus 7 running 4.1 and it doesn't work.

I can only confirm that Android 4.0 (Ice Cream version.... some person is probably earning a fortune coming up with these 'wacky' names for Android!) works with my Galaxy S3 and also works with a HTC ONE X 4.0.

Would be interesting to know if anyone listens to BeesPlayer while at a game on a mobile device or if there would be interest in that type of service.

My only warning would be unless you are on WiFi make sure you have a generous data plan (I'm on 3 network 'all you can eat' plan).

I've had to miss a couple of games recently and had to fall back on Bees Player. I was quite impressed with how much this service has improved. I think Billy has introduced that bit of professionalism that may have been lacking in the past. He gets a bit excited at times, but I think that's just a sign of how passionate he has become about the club.

I didn't always agree with Rebus when he posted on here, but I have to give credit where it's due. He's a very good analyst/co-commentator. Appears to read and understand the game whilst painting a good picture for the listener. He brings a bit of calm to Billy's excitement.

Bees Player is excellent. I won't be upgrading my android from 4 if it means losing it !!

If you upgrade your Android Phone/Tablet Firmware to 4.1 (Jellybean) or above it's unlikely to receive BeesPlayer as this does not support Flash Player. I get reminders to upgrade but don't as I don't won't to lose this option. Hope you listen to the home BeesPlayer Show at Griffin Park when you come? :)

I have Flash Player on my JellyBean tablet, but then I'm not a conformist!

Hi Luis, only just got it so not tried it yet, but as its a 10.1 inch I'm not sure I'd bring it to the match. Might look out for a cheap phone for that purpose.

Bees Player 2012

How do you do that then Hobbsy?

It involves rooting/wiping and breaking manufacturers warranties. XDA Developers is the place to go for that but really you need to have a good understanding of Android.

I assume he means you can listen to the Show highlights at home afterwards on the days you go to GP. Well worth a listen if you haven't done so.

I didn't realise you were talking about a Tablet. If anyone has an Android 4.0 (and subscribe to BP) then they should be able to listen in the ground. I would advise that you have a healthy data allowance just in case.

This means that you can listen to us and contribute to GPG as well. :)

PS He's right. BP Show highlights always worth a listen.

If you download a browser called puffin (its free) bees player works on an ipad

Just tried it on my ipad and I am impressed it does work. Although it says there is a 14 day trial for Flash Player access with a cost of £1.99 for the app. Probably worth it if you can get BeesPlayer on your ipad.

Not sure if it works with an iphone. Perhaps someone can check?

That's going to be pretty odd celebrating a goal in Griffin Park about 60 seconds after it happened. :)

Or do you mean that there's a "direct" service available similar to the blind scheme? or even tapping into the blind scheme itself?

That was going to be my question.

Does it work on an iPhone?

There's no reason why it shouldn't, as the IOS code is the same on Phone or Tablet.

Oh right, think I'll be giving that a miss sounds way over my head :-)

At the moment I think there's more value to listening to pre-game/half-time/full time if you are coming to the game on BPS.

I accept that there's a delay in BP commentary.

I know at Test Matches you can buy a special radio to listen. You never know... In the new shiny stadium...

I tested the Puffin Browser on an Iphone 4S & 3S yesterday in the name of research and it worked with BeesPlayer. However, not on a live stream yet.

Bees Player 2012

Imised Puffin on an iPad and flash worked but the match highlights were still pretty unwatchable.

Bees Player 2012

Luis, just to be clear, if I load puffin to my iPhone will I be able to listen to BP commentary?

I tested the Puffin Browser with all the recorded content and it works on both Ipad/Iphone 3 & 4.

I am currently listening to Hull v Huddersfield on my Ipad at the moment and it is working with LIVE commentary. So I see no reason why it shouldn't work.

There is a free version so it is worth a try to see if it works. I think there is a 14 day trial for the Flash Player access and then £1.99 for the app. I think you will have to disable your screen lock (for match duration) as it seems to cut out once that kicks in.

From what I can see it is a browser which enables FlashPlayer to work on an Ipad/Iphone. I'm no expert but I have been looking for something like this for a while now.

Hope that clears it up/helps. Important that you have a very healthy data allowance or are connected to wifi.

Bees Player 2012

I think the browser uses a third party server...... Something like that..... Been checking it out in case it's dodgy!

The App is available on the official Apple store. I know that doesn't guarantee anything though. It works on Android 4.1 (Jellybean) as well.

Bees Player 2012

Live streaming works a treat on my HTC One X (Android) phone. I live up in Yorkshire so use the Beesplayer service every week. Had to take the kids to the cinema the other Saturday but could listen live to the match (v Sheff Utd) on my phone while they watched Nativity. Enjoyed my afternoon more than they did.
Usually have it streaming in my car when running about on a Saturday afternoon. Coverage is excellent. A credit to everyone involved (Louis, Marky Bee, Chappers and the incomparable Mr Reeves et al).

Bees player

Unfortunately can't make the game today. I am considering maybe getting bees player to listen to the game, bit unsure Thoe if its worth it. Have listened before its cut out on me and not been that impressed with it, what is it like now? I would tune into bbc London but just talk about the premiershit.

Up the bees

Bees Player 2012

Isn't there some free trial you can take up then cancel later? When I've used it , it's fine

Bees Player 2012

I've had it for a few seasons and think it's good value for when I can't/don't get to the game. Beware if you have a mac working on one of the older operating systems as I had to suspend my subscription this season until the new mac was released at the end of November. The providers are extremely helpful should you have a problem and suggest a number of solutions - usually having access to google chrome sorts out any problems.

Bees Player 2012

Ive had Bees Player since its started and the commentaries are invaluable and been a very good quality. Bees fans I think get a pretty good deal compared to even higher profile clubs. The only thing that lets Bees Player down is the quality of the day after match highlights but thats not something the club has control over.

Shall be listening too this afternoon, although I have a ticket but wont be able to get there unfortunately

Bees Player 2012

Agree with the posts above -- well worth getting if you can't get to matches regularly. It seems pretty reliable at the moment, with fewer access/cutting out problems.

Bees Player 2012

Brilliant cheers guys, try to make as many as I can. Getting bit fed up of watching sky sports talking about every other club than the bees.

Bees Player 2012

Yep, second everything of the above. For the games that I can't make (which is most of them) 14:45 -17:00 on Saturday and evening matches are firmly written in my calendar.

I find the commentary team as funny as jeff stelling too (well almost).....

Bees Player 2012

Interesting that the feedback is positive here. Every time I look at the match update threads it seems to be full of people complaining that the system is down.

Bees Player 2012

Loaded puffin onto iPhone, can run reports and video's from bees player, but screen won't scroll across to the live match option, occasionally it does and when you try and click on it it defaults to left hand of screen, so won't get match commentary.
Has anyone else had this ?
Tried it on landscape and portrait and messed with display setting, but still no joy.

Unbelievable Jeff... :)

Bees Player 2012

Always enjoy the Beesworld.....plenty of banter now.....however for me ..one of the most important things about it is....that the guys are not too biased about the Bees.....not like some other commentators....we all want the Bees to do well....but with the right spirit...I think....:sorted:....YOU REDS....

Bees Player 2012

Just wanted to comment on the excellent Bees Player show tonight. Action packed from start to finish with great guest comments from Mick, Gibbo and the lovely Natalie Sawyer :blush amongst others. KOC and Marky doing a fantastic job of calling the action and Luis pulling it all together. Great to hear from Farid, Harry and Clayton and others after the match too. Top job chaps and chapesses.

Great to hear the terrace support loud and proud tonight too.:sorted:

Yeah they even mentioned "the messageboard"
