Bees Search

Thanks for this, I use it as much as I can. A question though - can the main screen be extended to search for images and also limit results to UK (i.e. just like the google page)?

:imwith: Basically all Google's advance features.

Bees Search

Total now stands at £301.49

That's £300 for the club which would never have been raised if it wasn't for everyone using this search site. Thanks, and spread the word.

:sorted:

Just a thought, but could the Bees Online Store and the Online Ticket sites be added on the Shop area as well as the Easyfundraising site?

Not at the moment no I'm afraid google don't offer that. To search just in the UK, do your normal search then on the results page, tick the UK box and hit search again.

Yup. I'll do this when I next update.

Bees Search

so - just to clarify. is it only the "Ads sponsored by Google" clicks that generate the money? (i use this religiously by the way....just wanted to understand)

no using the search is too.

Think of it like we get paid for people doing their normal searches on the site.
If you start looking into which ads pay what money then we're in danger of being struck off the google affiliate list as it may tempt people to click to get the money up!

Like the story with the dog who saw his reflection in the water with a bone in his mouth; if we go to grab the second juicy bone, we'll have a lonely eveinging with no dinner! :sorted:

Fantastic effort eveyone!

Remember, if you don't currently use www.beessearch.co.uk for searching the net, you're wasting the chance to make the Club more cash for free.

Just search through the site and you'll be making money without even knowing it.

Bees Search

£360 since June just for using a slightly different site to undertake a search you would do anyway - and get the same results? that is a good effort indeed! Thanks

Have the Club defaulted all their pc's to use this search engine:confused:

Instead of putting the money in the black hole, have you thought about applying it to something in particular. Youth Team related perhaps:confused:

How is this going cjcjcj?

This is still going very well, but I haven't had much time lately to promote it. Just started studying for a Masters and have been moving etc.

Some days the income tops £10 with the regular users put together. If we can increase the user base, this would rise significantly.

Here's a tip which I use:

With Internet Explorer go to Tools > Internet Options and change your home page to Bees Search.
Then whenever you want to search the internet just click on the House Icon on your navigation bar and it throws Bees Search up. Easy.

Bees Search

are they promoting it on the o/s?

Bees Search

are they promoting it on the o/s?

Due to the tie-up with premiumTV they can't do this. There's an Ask Jeeves link on the o/s so no chance at the moment.

Scoreboard ads at GP may be possible, or programme space?

So thats one computer changed? What about the others?

Well he did say he would pass it down the line.......... I will however email Tracey, Peter and Matt too.

and yes i know there are more members of staff than that!

Any body tried using beessearch yesterday or today and getting the following message "This domain name has been reserved for future use"?

I did briefly yesterday but it has been fine today.

Bees Search

Send me a pm as soon as it's not working.

Still fine for me - but there are things which can go wrong so let me know.

How is this doing now?
Does everyone use this instead of google now?

Bees Search

Total now stands at £521.65

Let's hit £1000 as soon as possible, pass on the link to everyone you know. Think of the effort which went in to coca-cola win a player (admitedly £50k was a lot more) but not if everyone you know uses the site!

Bees Search

I would to pledge the total made so far to the 'Fighting Chance' campaign.
The money raised was always going to be for a specific cause, and there was always a desire to link Bees Search into paying for something related to new players (hence searching for new Bees).

The total now stands at £536 and I will personally make this up to £600.

If people support this idea, or have an issue of the use of it for this pupose please let me know by posting publically here.

In the mean time - this is a great FREE way to make money for the club so USE THE SEARCH ENGINE and tell everyone you know to do the same. This has made the club a fair amount of money.

That's a fantastic gesture as is you making up the balance to £600. However, I'd like someone from BU to give their approval before we "seal the deal". Perhaps you could PM nothantsbee first and let me know her response first (in private if you wish).

Bees Search

any idea how much easy fundraising has raised so far?

Bees Search

Hullbee the total raised by Easyfundraising so far is £386.03 but these are BU funds.

Les

For the record, the Beessearch facility was always intended to help the club out in some way rather than be a BU donation (at least that was my understanding from cjcj). As I have said to him i think its a great idea, although it would be great to have feedback from others who use the facility.

Better keeping spending otherwise the club will never have enough money to get a new goal keeper to replace Nelson :sneakoff:

Seriously though I cant understand why people are not making more use of this facility to make money for Brentford. I got my car insurance a couple of weeks ago £25 donated and loads of insurers to compare prices against.... Its money people would be spending anyway so come on GPG'ers lets get on to this

It's my homepage, and I couldn't think of a better way to use the money, well done cjcj.

my search page now and i will be telling everyone one to use it to.
well done cjcj

Can we have a midfield general first please..............

Nelson last on my list which i know will surprise you greatly :D :D

Onto other things though. Well done to cjcj for setting up Beessearch in the first place and IMHO a great idea to donate to the 'Fighting Chance' Fund

Second, please please dont forget to use
www.easyfundraising.org.uk/beesunited to purchase all your Xmas pressies, insurances, credit cards etc. All proceeds raised go to BU and can be earmarked for a specific cause if we think it a good idea...........

I wonder how much the scheme has raised so far?

I know £600 has gone to the Fighting Chance fund but this is raising money for free and should be up the list a bit................:sorted:

Bees Search

So, if I use it instead of Google, then how much does BU get per search?

Bees Search

Sorry for no updates for a while - I've been meaning to.
Another payment to BU due to happen very soon!

BU doesn't get paid for each search. Only when a searcher clicks on a sponsored advert. The cost per click varies hugely depending on what the term is (advertisers bid against others to get higher up the listings).

But just clicking on sponsored links is obviously banned for sites like BeesSearch so just use the search page as you normally would and we'll make money without you even knowing.

It would be great if this site had a banner on the GPG - similar to the one used to promote BIAS in the past.
