Right, firstly this is not sour grapes or a winge but I do think that the people who are running Bees World are taking the pi$$.

Having signed up for Bees World, I expected, as do many of the ex-pats who follow the Bees, for the normal Brentford commentary on the match.

Yesterday's match we were treated to 90 minutes of northern bias and pi$$ taking from the Spritie World team. It wound me up as it did lots of others.(see Match Update thread)
Basically, if PTV/Bees World are unable to provide the service that they have advertised, then let us know. Their resposne to me when I eMailed was that there was that Brentford were unable to provide commentary!

So is this the fault of the club or PTV?. Oh, and by the way they didn't hesitate to debit my card on 31st July.

I am not happy. :mad1:

I would think that this would be down to our club to provide commentators and in this particular case they were all unavilable. I doubt BeesWorld/PTV have a pool of their own commentators to provide a neutral one. So rather than having no commentary they gave us the Chesterfield one.

And a bl**dy annoying one it was too

I'd have done it if they'd paid my expenses!

Seriously though, they really did annoy me, and made those 90 minutes not very pleasant ones. They were so biased, e.g. claiming Turner was rubbish, when everyone on here disagrees. They've made me hate Chesterfield now, and surely that isn't fair.

I'd do it for 'exes only' as well. I can be abusive, annoying, opposition hating etc.
All in all, it was annoying and did not do what it said on the tin. Remedy this BFC and if it looks like we haven't got someone to do the commentary, recruit people!!!

Out of work drummers and trumpeters need not apply.

I would have done it - I am not the best commentator in the world (hmmm), but I can give you as much Brentford bias as you want!

I would have thought that a new Thread on the GPG (as soon as the regulars knew they would not be available) asking for a stand in commentaor would have generated a good enough response to make sure a Brentford Commentary was available - If you charge for a service you should provide the service charged for - Who is responsible at Brentford for taking care of Bees World ??

Christ, I utterly agree with this thread.

I never usually bother with Bees World - don't have my own sub but "borrowed" a mate's yesterday.

Impossible to find out how we were really doing. The commentator made it sound as if we only touched the ball once every five minutes. The referee was a Brentford fan. Every tackle we made was a bookable offence. Etc.

If I'd paid for that I'd be ****ed right off.

My Dad says Beesworld commentary is quite good

It is when you don't have a bias pair of Cock's from Chesterfield going on and on about there team, It was very frustrating & very embarrassing to listen to :nono:

I understand from another thread that Mark's away for the weekend. All I can say is that I'm glad I was at a family wedding and didn't have to endure the Chesterfield commentary which sounded dire.

I have listened to the dulcet tones of Mark C, MarkyB, Leggy B, Geoff B - all highly entertaining and passionate - if these fine people couldn't make it to Chesterfield, then I'm sure there might have been some other supporters who could have done the job.

What's the criteria for commentating on Bees World - there may be some Bees out there who fancy becoming the next Brian Moore. ;)

I doubt if you will have to endure the same situation again this season. Apart from Peterborough I will be with Mark Chapman at the next few away games.

In my humble opinion we are a lot less bias than our opposition commentators - sometimes I can hear what they are saying next to me and would like get them a Specsavers brochure  We are aware that opposition fans might well be listening to us and we would not want to give them justification to complain to PTV as some Bees fans wish to - we generally says it as we see but without the rose tinted glasses that our counterparts often wear.

That's not to say we don't get a lot more excited when we score :bound: - if the opposition score a stunning goal though, we wouldn't belittle it either :nono:

Mark is back for tomorrows match and Im sure he can answer any queries anyone has. Panic not, I think you will hear a Bees voice at away games as well as ALL the home games (obviously) for the rest of the season.

Cheers Marky. I must say that I find our commentators pretty fair on the whole.
If the situation arises again, it would be a great opportunity to 'recruit' a buddy Motty from the GPG.
I will be listening tonight in France, wine in hand, and expect a winning commentary and performance!
