If we have a general thread, then...
What positions do you think we need strengthening in, and who do you think are realistic targets for those positions?
In my mind, I feel like we could do with an upgrade in midfield. I've been a huge fan of Jensen, but he's slipped back a lot, imo. I would like to see a more all-action player come in who can have an instant impact.
Other than that, we need to replace Bryan and/or Wiss. I wouldn't like to go into next season with Thiago as our only central striker.

I think we'll need a strong CMF, box to box maybe. Probably a young player and one to develop rather than one to throw straight in. Yarmo is really coming into his own but some of the other midfield roles we could start to look to the future on.
We'll need a right forward. With Bryan possibly likely to go it'll be interesting to see if we splash out to get someone more ready made (while fairly young still).
Whether we need a forward or not depends on Wissa's situation. If he stays then we're all good.
But overall if we sign a few promising youngsters to really future proof things then it could set us up very well. We're in a fairly comfortable position so it's more about refining the players at the club and laying some seriously strong foundations down.

*Keep the rest of the gang together. There may be interest in Collins, Flekken etc.
That's about it unless an opportunity comes up to sign a rare talent.

You’re clearly wedded to 4-3-3 but you’ve failed to mention Yarmolyuk who’s ended the season playing as one of a pair of 6s alongside and often behind Nørgaard.

I have liked Jensen, but I agree that even if fully fit he can no longer expect to start games. However is he as effective coming on as a replacement late in games, I don’t believe he is. As I only see games that are televised live, it makes my judgment next to useless.
But I don’t believe he think Josh would work better in that role, he always looked a great asset as an impact sub. So I look forward to his return to fitness

A replacement for Bryan - might not start initially but I don't really like the idea of replacing from within the current squad
Two up-and-coming 19/20 year olds, in a similar place to Bryan or KLP when we signed them, one an AM, the other a winger (depending on experience this could be the Bryan replacement in which case only one additional signing would be necessary).
I am not sure we need a CB - we currently have four and Vitaly can fill in as an emergency if needed

Why do we need to replace Flekken?
What's happened to Pinnock?
We will never play Norgaard as the lone "midfielder", we will have someone dynamic or sitting alongside him. Where's Yarmo?
Where's Carvalho for that matter?
We could see another CB, we've been linked, but I think Ji-Soo could get some minutes in the cups. I would hope to see him get some minutes, at least.
Could we revisit some of the signings from previous years? Many of the players we looked at have gone elsewhere now, but some are still available.
If we're going Dutch with Milambo, could Addai also be worth a look from AZ?
Dorgeles from Nordsjaelland looks potentially class to me, could be a midfield option.
Sindre Walle Egeli from the same side also looks quality.
And from a purely nepotistic PoV, 17 year old Janos Galambos from Paks in Hungary made his senior debut recently. He could be a good player up top or in attacking midfield

The squad feels very complete to me right now, so it's really about replacing outgoings.
Maghoma and Jensen I could see wanting to go for playing time, Wissa and mbeumo are ripe for a big sale, flekken being linked with Leverkusen, and Mee has aged out already. I don't see all of the above leaving but it could be 3 or 4 we need to bring in just to cover gaps left by departures.
The one position I'd want even if we kept all of them is RW, since Mbeumo's played almost every minute this season and here's our only left footed forward. I'm sure Schade, Carvalho, JDS, and maybe Donovan when he's ready can do a job there, but I want someone who's gonna plant their flag there more permanently.

Flekken’s future isn’t 100% certain, especially with links to other clubs. If he does go, we’ll likely be in the market for a young keeper.
I don’t think we need another CB right now, but it’s worth noting we’ve only got one left-footed centre-back with Ben Mee leaving and Pinnock getting older.
We’ll almost certainly need a new RW to replace Bryan and to be honest I’m not a fan of the idea of replacing him with Nunes or Schade, who are already at the club.
We’ll need a replacement for JDS too and I think Milambo could be a great fit for that role when comes to the club hopefully.

In midfield terminology, the positions are divided up by number. So a holding midfielder is a 6, a box-to-box or central midfielder is an 8, and an attacking midfielder is a 10. For most of the past years, we've played with a 6 and a pair of 8s. Since Yarmo's been a fixture in the team, we've played more with a pair of 6s and a 10. But Norgaard has been a more advanced 6, almost a hybrid 6/8. Kind of like how Essien played in Mourinho's Chelsea, with Yarmo as Makelele and Damsgaard more advanced.

Nail on head - I think we need to replace Mee as Pinnock wasn't his normal level last season and I think this may be his last season with us. Likewise Janelt/Jensen upgrade or younger model with them retained for squad depth.
Clearly the main focus is on replacing whoever leaves out of Bryan/Yoanne (or both, hopefully not...) - I'd prefer Schade to play on the left still with KLP/Nunes as other options so the right side will need some serious money spent IMHO should the worst happen

I’d say, with some hesitation, that we already have replacements in-house but the recruitment focus should be on understudies for those replacements who may replace the replacements. ?
Thomas’ focus will be on the formation and style of play that optimises the players following the transfer window. I’d hazard a guess it’ll be a bit more like when Toney was on peak form with us, using Thiago as the focal point of the attack.

I'm not going into the season with only 3 CBs that have proper first team experience and 3 barely tested understudies, sorry. We need 5 CBs so I'll give you JiSoo as one of them but we need another more experienced option than 2 B teamers.
