I, along with a non-Bees supporting mate joined Bees United 6 weeks ago.

Why am I now being asked for more cash, just because the membership year has ended.

Surely this should have been taken into account when Bees United are trying to recruit new members.

Renewals are only meant to be applicable to people who joined before April 1st 2002; there was a sentence omitted on the letter in error. (IE membership of people who have joined BU in last 3 months is valid till 30/6/03).

Can you just confirm also, that anyone with a regular monthly standing order does not have to pay the annual fee as it is taken as part of the standing order already?

A shame that the letter wasn't a bit clearer on these points as it certainly came across to me as a request for me to renew my membership, when I only started a standing order last month.

Still, let's not carp, but applaud the successes of Bees United and do what we can to help them achieve even more!

I also received a letter that asked me to renew membership. I only joined three weeks ago (Shame on me I know!!) but also recruited my Father and son Harry?

Whilst Pete, I have noted your comments above, a few of my mates who have also recruited a lot of members are up in arms about having to renew?

Can you confirm that those who have only just joined will receive membership cards for the whole year?

Yep, that is the case GB.
Every member who joined post-April 2002 has valid membership until July 1st 2003. (Cards are being worked on now ; hopefully these will be ready for despatch very soon). Apologies for this confusion.

Lew - not seen the TV details yet but personally I wouldn`t have thought it will make a dramatic difference in the short term.
