Bees v Luton Preview

From the BBC site:

Brentford v Luton preview

Brentford manager Ray Lewington is likely be without goalkeeper Olafur Gottskalksson for the visit of Luton.
Gottskalksson suffered concussion during Tuesday night's LDV Vans Trophy success against Southend.

Paul Smith, who came on as a substitute in midweek, is set to start in his place.

Since Joe has gone there, he's got them going and they're scrapping for their lives

Ray Lewington
With a date at the Millennium Stadium next month now booked, Lewington will turn his players' attentions to the league and is expecting a tough test from Joe Kinnear's relegation-fighting outfit.
He said: "They looked dead and buried. Luton beat us 3-1 earlier in the season and probably that was our biggest mauling of the season. We got a real hammering.

"Luton have got good players - they've underachieved because they've got good, young players and if you look at their teamsheet you sometimes wonder how they've let themselves get into the position they are.

"Since Joe has gone there, he's got them going and they're scrapping for their lives. They're too good to go down but they've still got a lot of work to do so it will be a very hard game for us."

Target set

Kinnear will be without Petri Helin and Liam George who are both away on international duty.

New arrival Steven Howard was not signed in time to be eligible for the Griffin Park match, while Andrew Fotiadis (groin) and goalkeeper Mark Ovendale (shoulder) are both still sidelined.

Kinnear, who has added Gavin McGowan to the squad, was expecting a tough match after watching the Bees in their midweek cup match.

He said: "I was over there the other night and they were a little bit fortunate but got the all-important goals. They are a difficult side to play against and I expect it will be a tough game.

"But we are looking a hard team to beat at the moment. We're averaging two points per game and if we stay in that same vein for the rest of the season we should cruise through it really.

"Nothing but three points is going to do us in every game that we go into.

"We're in that position and the only way we're going to get out of it is to keep the run going and if we don't we're going to go down.

"I'd say that we'd have to win probably six out of the remaining 12 and I don't think that's an impossible task and we've got every chance of achieving that."

DGB's preview:

We're gonna stuff the bastards.
They're coaches are leaving at 5pm, if I see them on the way I'll give them a 'greeting'

Let's hope the coaches haven't agreed a game plan before they leave!!

I shall rephrase that....

The coaches (in the similar-to-a-bus type coaches) carrying the vermin to GP will be setting off at 5pm.........

Notwithstanding DGB's antics, the coaches will NOT make it for kick-off. Don't you just love the M25?

I was hoping to 'obtain' those spikey things the police throw across the road to puncture tyres, and ambush the coaches whilst wearing a silly hat.

We usually leave here @ 5.30pm for night matches, usually getting to GP after 7pm, although havent ever been more then 3 mins late for kick off.

Alternitavly (sp

) I could dress as an Asian woman, one that wears the sort of silk masks as part of their religion, and take off the little cap on the air valves off their tyres. I shall swallow the caps. Then I'll let out a wee bit of air before making my escape (in Noel Edmunds helicopter possibly?). Their wheels should be flat by the M25 *evil laugh* (although I'm probably wrong

when i used to meet my mate in twickenham, i'd get two buses (290 and 267) and whenever there was a match at twickers we'd always be very late (you'd think we'd learn

) i've been 35mins late before, and my mate has missed the first half before.... he tried to get to the rotherham game earlier this season from birmingham, and was at euston station at 3:40pm!!

That's probably from eating plastic valve caps.
