Not worth a 2 year contract apparantly !

Goals win matches whether they are scored by an 18 y o or a 32 year old

100% not worth a two year contract, we didn't go up with him last year, we weren't going up with him this year and we weren't going to go up with him next year or the year after.

Bees v Orient...updates...

There just isn't anyone in this side who they can all turn to for some inspiration and direction. I've only seen about three games this season, but last week against Sheff U it looked like none of them knew exactly what their job was and there was no one to rally them.

Alexander scores what looks like the winner for Crawley

Bees v Orient...updates...

Sums it all up really!

Sounded awful D. You were right I think about the effort thing. 4 out of 10 performance, Mark said .. that is so not good enough. Can't be bothered to hear what Uwe says .. it's all hot air and so want to see it out on the pitch.

Good for him. I always thought he'd do well in league 2. Please don't let's big him up like CM.We lost enough when he was playing for us.

Bees v Orient...updates...

And Grabban has just scored for the ex Manager . . . .

Grabben has scored 18 (7 pens) this is still 8 less than Donaldson scored in that league last yr so not worth mentioning yet

Think we'll be losing a whole lot more now he isn't playing for us !

Alexander was a decent player and still not a bad player, Donaldson is neither of these but still plays, oh dear.:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Bees v Orient...updates...

Thank goodness that is all over!! What an underwhelming season this has turned out to be and what an inept and disappointing performance by the sounds of it. Never expected us to get back into it after conceding two goals - shows how low my expectations are these days.

Talking rubbish. Alexander walked when a bigger offer was on the table. Brentford were not prepared, quite rightly so, to compete with a two year deal. If you think GA was worth a two year deal, you're mad, he also refused to play if we didn't release him. I didn't want him to leave at this point of the season, but he wanted to, wasn't worth chasing.

It might be worth mentioning that Grabban has scored 18 this season, Alexander 17, Charlie 10... yet all have left the club on Uwe's watch.

Bees v Orient...updates...

Come on. You can't rate him. I can run faster than him in an overcoat wearing wellies and I'm 61 !!:D

I rate anyone who can score 14 goals for us in a season like this. For what its worth, I think we need better for the first team in a promotion push but he was a useful player this season and not part of the problem. We are seeing what we are missing now he has gone and I suspect if Rosler doesn't get his finger out and find the elusive striker he keeps banging on about that we will finish about 7 placess lower than we would if he had stayed.

For pure value for money, I would have a 34 year old Gary Alexander over Clayton Donaldson any day of the week.

So in short, the answer to your question is yes I did rate him and I am probably one of the minority that thinks we should have given him 2 years if that would have meant he stayed (which seems to be the case).

The management of this club owe the supporters an explanation for what has gone on in the last 2 weeks but I am not holding my breath for any "interesting" questions at the Press conference. I expect it will be the usual CW -"Uwe what lessons have we learned from todays defeat"

Didn't know the last bit. Not nice-can GA fans please note.

mind you Grabbon has 18 in league 2, clayton knocked in 35 plus there last season.

Maybe. But can you kick the crap out of big centre-halves, wack home the odd goal, head the ball like a rocket, help out in defence, keep a cool head for( most) penalties, fight like a lion to win the ball, and gallop around the pitch carrying Clayton Donaldson on your back as a passenger?!:D

They did sod all last season. It was right to move them on. What wasn't right was the fact we had no one to come in in their place. Donaldson was a player most thought was a good acquisition in June. Sadly it's not been good enough. Uwe and Warburton have their work cut out to find at least 10 players to try and do what Charlton have done this season. It's going to be a tough ask. There's going to be some tough choices for MB and what he does with his funding.

Taking rubbish hey, they gave donaldson a three year contract, which is the biggest joke.

Hopefully they won't have the chance to rebuild, this season has been awful.

I bet you'd have given it to him in June. Hindsight eh.... Alexander was on his last legs, BFC got some money for a player who would've left for nothing in June, it's now Uwe's job to seek better.

F****king b***ocks. You lot will have a field day now. Enjoy X

Alexander was a decent player and still not a bad player, Donaldson is neither of these but still plays, oh dear.:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Alexander was (in his prime) a very decent player but (now) not worth a two year deal, rumour has it that we had the option of giving him a two year contract or let him go to Crawley, anything else and he would throw the toys about and go for a pint of sulk (and probably not played again this season). We chose the best option imo.
Donaldson has not been the prolific goalscorer we expected, if he was on pens (I think he was at Crewe) he would be close to Alexander on goals with probably a lot more assists, he gets a lot of free kicks as well, that Sam has scored from. If I had to choose one for next season it would be Donaldson, the caveat to that is, we are probably paying him a prolific scorer premium, which makes him poor value in money terms.

You're right about the last bit. I certainly don't want the management changed at least not Rosler. I'm a bit less bothered about Warburton to be honest and I'm not sure the Sporting Director thing works, too many heads seem to lead to indecision. Maybe it is because we made such an almighty mistake with Donaldson that we won't take the plunge to sign another striker. Too late now the season is finished.

Massive clear out needed and we might as well get on with it. I don't agree with mori that we should send the loanees back as we need to maintain our reputation with Premier clubs but I certainly would get McGinns bike out from storage and point him in its direction.

Considering the amount they muist be taking out of the budget McGinn and Donaldson must be the 2 biggest waste of spaces to wear our shirts in many a long year.

Have taken the rose tinted glasses off and put them away in the cupboard until August.

If the answer is Alexander, MacDonald & Grabban, the question definitely is not what three forwards will fire you to the Championship.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I admit. Foresight is a good thing too, and plenty saw a different future to what Uwe envisaged.

I like Uwe, but his judgement when it comes to strikers has been... well, crap. Undeniably crap. There is no defence there, I don't buy this 'right decision at the time' smokescreen.

Bees v Orient...updates...

we need to concentrate on not being the team that plummets down the table and goes down..we are not too good for that.too little experience in the team.

Only if he scored as many as Alexander, I have my doubts he would have.

in fairness this view is with hindsight, at the time bringing in last seasons highest scorer in any league was a fantastic achievement, its a shame it hasnt worked out but at the time you wouldnt have been complaining. every signing is a risk, he is one of many down the years that have failed to do it for brentford.

Bees v Orient...updates...

Get over Alexander please. He's gone and the club did the right thing.
More interested in why Uwe took the Wonder Kid off at half time to be honest. The Boy has something about him. A player who can do something special. Can't say that for the majority of the squad, so why sub him ?!
and another thing Uwe .. please don't play McGinn again, he offers little from the sound of it .. I'd even go so far as to say, he offers nothing

:sorted: Which ever way you look at it the striker situation has not been handled well; and it will very probably get worse in the short term.

IM view the time has come to give Weston a go down the middle; it doesn't seem likely to be any worse than what seems to have been achieved today.

So where are the last 6 points coming from? Clueless.

Exactly my thoughts cromerbee. I honestly am concerned about IMO another dire season. I am concerned that we have nearly as many managers than players. christ knows how much this shambles is costing Mr Benham. But these guys need to step up (as well as the players) too the plate. It is not any better than it was under Scott, no I do not want him back. The management as well as the players have to accept the blame, and none of it is just not good enough I cannot see where the goals are coming from. Season after season we fail to deliver, and no it is not just the club have no money. Lots of smaller clubs than us do far better than us on a smaller budget. Next August sees my 50th year of supporting this club, and I mean supporting. If the personnel at the club are not bothered then throw them out. I am running out of years, and I want to see some success before I pop my cloggs. So come on how about it?
