We've lacked an energetic pressing 8 for while and he's good and experienced in the role but it would be interesting to see Janelt tried there. I would have thought we'd be looking for more creativity in this window as that is where we are a bit short of where we were last year.

Used to but I posted here about 3 months ago that he had cleaned up his act. IIRC he only got booked once from 36 league games in 19/20

Terrible memory:- 9 yellows from 38 lge games in 19/20 but only once in 9 games in 20/21

Good player. Very aggressive but seems to have calmed down.

If Norgaard is out for a while yet - and we’ve been told nothing - then Janelt needs some help.

Does Pearson want to come down south? I wonder.

Perhaps CN's fitness is a concern which would explain TF's mood following the Bournemouth victory?

Preston North End have completed the loan signing of Irish international midfielder Jayson Molumby from Premier League Brighton & Hove Albion.

They have just signed a midfielder on loan.

Call me cynical but the fact that we have, according to the Daily Fail, only just joined the race has me suspicious - maybe a case of an agent dropping a snippet of misinformation to force a hand...

I’d say it’s fairly obvious from his omission tonight that he’s crocked again for a while. Really don’t want to fall short again this season as his injuries would be a massive factor in that

The silence is ominous about Norgaard. We are down to 4 fit midfielders with one about to have a 3 game ban.

We have to bring in another midfielder this month unless CN is about to return.

A different view on Pearson’s much improved disciplinary record. Is it better because of no crowds? Did he used to get carried away, or overreact when the match was ‘an event’? Or, is it just better experience and maturity?

I can only see this happening if we want to play him a little higher than holding midfield. With Marcondes possibly on the way out (?) he could play “8” role rather than deep.

My guess is that he’ll end up at West Brom.

He’s a very good player though and would be good have!

Not sure he can play a 8 is not mobile enough for that role.

Preston have signed Molumby on loan from Brighton which may be a pointer to a midfielder leaving?

I’ve just seen around 8 teams he’s linked with. We’ve probably just been added to the list.

We have 4 fit midfielders to fill 3 positions so even if Norgaard recovered soon you would probably want 1 more in so there are alternatives in each role - whether that is Pearson or not remains to be seen but I don't see why he couldn't fill the 8 role personally.

It's a real shame that we've had so many injuries amongst midfielders. Even the likes of Maghoma seems to have been out for a while. Personally think if Norgaard is out for a little longer we could do a lot worse than recall Oksanen who's doing very well in League One at the moment..

Thought he'd been recalled due to bad ankle injury?

I am surrounded by North End fans here and they are unanimous in saying that he is very good player and one of PNE's most important assets...however they are resigned to losing him.Most feel Brentford would be an excellent move for him.

If we're going to pick over the bones of PNE's midfield, then I'd have thought Ryan Ledson was more a Brentford-type player.
