He's had more ups than downs but has had some bad days. Coming forward he looks the biz but he does need to polish up his defending.

All the criticism of Starosta seems to forget that he's still a youngster playing his first full season of football. He's bound to be inconsistent and have some downs as well as ups. I think he's done really well so far.

So do I but I had to use the word "Polish!"

With Kevin O'Connor playing everywhere but in goal, we need Starosta!

He has done well IMHO, he has good technique on the ball if you watch him, the product of good coaching i suggest...something some of our younger pro's seem to fail on?:fishing:

This boy has had some tough games during his time here but Friday night showed that he's come through it with flying colours.

M.K. tried both Dyer and Johnson (with fresh legs) and neither got any change out of him. I think the defining moment for Dyer was that early chase down the wing when Starosta got to the ball first and basically told him to stick his pace up his rsssssss.

Dribbling the ball across his own box in the second half was....different but i'm pretty sure that someone is gonna benefit from the experience he's gained from his time at G.P.

He has shown what some would call 'character' or 'bouncebackability' and is a great comparison to someone like Tillen in that respect

Arrrrhhhhhh but.....i was lead to believe that we could still see a bit more of him after then subject to agreement of all parties and, if that's right, i hope we pull the stops out :sorted:

I think the ball may well be in his court - no idea what will happen though. I hope he stays - he's one of the best right backs we've had for a while now and as has been mentioned, his attitude is spot on. Definitely got a future in the game.

If nothing else, Friday night proved that we have got a core from which we can feasibly make something of this season.

If we keep and build on that core, the future is bright.

If we lose some/all of those brighter lights then it's another kick in the tenders to go with the others over the last 3 months

Fully agree. His attitude has been terrific, especialy considering he ia a "loan" player. Hope he stays for a lot longer than just January. What a difference in his attitude to that of Emmanuel!

I'll stick by what i said my boy

I hope that what i have said/am saying do not amount to his Brentford obituary because he has made that right back position his own and we will miss him whether it is for 3 (or more than 3:sad: ) games.

He dived in, i-like many-could see what the ref was going to do and that was that. No complaints really - a reckless challenge by a young lad who will reflect on it and hopefully learn from it but the one thing you can say today is that he and most of the others showed that they wanted to win.

They're a totally different unit from a couple of weeks ago - their demeanour shows that.

I am sure we will be bumping in to him again this season ;)

one of the players to have grown while he has been at the club. sheffield should be sending back their congratulations to our coaching staff if they decide to keep him...
will be sorry to see him go and it is a shame that his bees career (if this really is his last match) ended in such fashion. having said that, i would not complain if we signed him in january! ... we need a striker though.. BADLY!

Ben Starosta thread

Today was an aberration which I am sure he will reflect on but that shouldn't detract from him being a decent player at this level, we need to keep him.

With young players you can excuse their mistakes if you can see them learning and progressing and I hope he has the chance to learn from today with us. It's noticeable how much he's improved since Heywood has been playing regularly too

Starosta has done well for us, shame about today but can be forgiven as he is a young and developing player

Played his last game today.

Looked like a farewell at the end today. Good player, good attitude - good luck to him. :sorted:

Ben Starosta thread

i thought that too. all the best if so.

Good player, did well and improved over the course of his loan, but we are well covered at right back, have other priorities in the squad so many thanks, good luck and goodbye.
