Bernard Floodgate

Bernard(22/07/1922) was a youth player during the war and played in just one game for the Bees in the 1943/44 season .
I understand that he moved on to a team called Stevenage Road and Tooting and Mitcham after the war.
His son Nigel is a train driver here in Horsham and we speak on a regular basis and I have only just found out about his Dad.
Anyway, he asked me if I knew who he played against.
Anyone know the answer?
My Brentford book is in the loft and I could dig it out at some point, but I thought I would ask here first.

Played Number 3 in a 2-5 loss to QPR at home on Christmas Day 1943 (100 Years of Brentford)

Noted as "A.N.Other"........until the previous owner of this programme noted, on the day, the players name who wore No.3 and took their place at left-back.

I will pass all of this onto Bernard's son when I see him next.
I understand he was born on the Great West Road opposite the Commonwealth Estate in White City(where my nan lived) so the Acton United thing will be news to Mr Floodgates Junior as he never mentioned that at all.
He tells me that his dad never really spoke too much about his football career except that he played for Brentford,Putney and Tooting, but spoke with huge disappointment about his time.

Shame his name wasn't in the programme as that would have been brilliant.
I might try and get him one anyway, if possible of course.

Floodgate. Not plural. Unless they've added one in the intervening generations - or Paul's programme is wrong of course.
