Money being spent is mind blowing. No more mini buses to games, lots of specialist coaches and physics.

FA Youth Cup - Gillingham 1 - 3 Bees :bound:
FA YOUTH CUP Gillingham 1 v 3 Brentford.
I was at the game tonight, on balance of play the bees are more than deserving winners. Three excellent goals
Not sure if this is the right place for this message but here it is...
I'm a teacher and sent some of our kids, (13-16 years old), to Brentford for trials in the recent half term. Some of them got invited onto an Advanced Training Programme, some of them didn't, but all of them reported positively on the experience.
They were all given free tickets for the Bees v Crewe match and those that attended loved it and will definitely be following the club's fortunes in the future. One lad brought his free tickets in for me to use, so I phoned his Mum to pass on my thanks. She told me that the trials at Brentford were, "ten times better than those at Fulham; the coaches really had a good look at all of the players and looked after them properly". The school is in Wandsworth, largely a Chelsea or Fulham area, but the trials definitely spread the good word about Brentford, and may even have got some decent players of the future involved too...

Cheers for the feedback, great to hear that the investment in the academy is working wonders.
I believe mcCucumber is referring to The Community Sports Trust Advanced Training Football Programme which held trials in October and not the Academy. This programme has been going for well over 10 years now. It is a potential pathway for local player's to progress into the Academy.
It offers players aged 5-16 a player-centred environment to progress. Matches are played during holiday periods against other Community Sports Trust's including Arsenal, Brighton, Coventry. MK Dons. Oxford, Northampton, Walsall, and Wycombe amongst others.
Charlie Adams progressed from the Trust's Futsal programme into the then Centre of Excellence and now Academy.
Hello Mate.
Would like to see the ATP in at Uxbridge and have one base and move out of swift road.
The Mini-Bees ran out 2-0 victors this evening at GP against Dulwich Hamlet in the FA Youth Cup 2nd Round
Dulwich had some tidy players and gave us a game in the first hour but class told in the end.
Courtney Senior and James Ferry look real prospects....
Bees 2 vs 0 Dulwich Hamlet Live Text Updates
Courtney senior is very highly rated in football circles from what I've read
3rd Round is AWAY to either Bristol City or Burgess Hill.
Anyone know if we have any decent players coming through the academy that may be knocking on the first team door anytime soon?
Obviously we have Norris, Reeves, Dallas, etc, and I know the academy is still getting up to speed and it will be a few years before we would expect to see any results, but wouldn't it be great if we had a player that was so good he had to be given a chance. Especially a striker. Much as I hate them, Southampton have been producing exciting prospects for years, so it would be great for us to emulate that.
Anyone with their ear to the ground on these things?
Montell Moore
Yeah, looks a decent prospect. Though guess he'd be playing for the development squad / u21s more often?

Didn't Michael Onvugwigam (sp) train with the first team as a 15 year old about a season ago?
JordanBee is right that Moore looks a real prospect but there is plenty of quality coming through. I like Courtney Senior, Montell's little strike partner, for instance.
I still have high hopes for Charlie Adams aswell.
I wouldn't've thought that any of them where ready for this season though
To get near the 1st team these players need to stand out consistently in the dev squad and they are not near that level yet.
Yeah and he's the one that the Liverpool scout came on here specifically to praise after the Milk Cup a couple of years back.
Forgotten that. Is there a thread reference?

Something that every Bee should be proud of ....

The facility is very, very impressive indeed - Ose, his team and Uxbridge High can feel very proud of themselves
Highlight of the evening was a fantastic speech from Ose, if the Academy youngsters can take on board even a small piece of the passion that Ose has, then the future is very, very bright indeed

The opening of the Academy: http://bias.org.uk/2014/01/17/the-opening-of-brentford-fc-academy/
we’re not Americans; aeroplane or aircraft please, and I’m not sure “jopined” is a real word anywhere More evidence - if it were ever needed - of just how lucky BFC are to have MB on board:

They are? I must have missed somethingis very hard for local lads to progress now as we are competing in League One and looking to push towards the Championship.

Wasn't sure if this warranted its own thread but it seems at home here.
Another great little link up the club have made. You just have to marvel at how dynamic, forward thinking and professional BFC has become
I see MB will get a cut direct of any transfer fees from players who progress this way ...
