BFC ebay auction

Have a look at item number 1854704481 currently up fo sale on ebay. I'd like to think this guy would donate some of the profit to Bees United. I have written and asked if he will.

Its no wonder that clubs like ManU and CFC won't sign stuff at training grounds any more when the items they sign end up being sold for personal gain a couple of days later.

Its a different world these days, not always for the better.

I'll quote any reply I get from the seller here.

Please don't bid on this item!!!!

I am currently trying to negotiate a swap for the shirt for an England shirt that i have. If I achieve this, the shirt will be given to BEES UNITED for their next auction.

Keep you posted!!

ps, this bloke won't donate jack, he sells lots of autographed items, not just Brentford, and probably don't give a monkies about the club!!!!!

There are ways to nobble ebay auctions ;-) Lets hope that nobody bids anyway, £100 seems excessive, I know I wouldn't pay it.

I have had no reply to my query so far.

I hope you are successful AJ.

All you need to do is sign up under a false name and bid a million quid and the bloke is f@cked!

Looks like my England shirt is now being used for a different swap according to Mr PJ. I may therefore buy this purely to donate. £100 does seem a bit steep...anyone wanna split the cost??? This item would do at least £200 at a BEES UNITED auction. Come on lads.

Why not get the players to sign another one for BU? Rather than piss £100 on someone else?

Where did he get it from ? To get a new shirt signed did he write to the club pretending to be a sick kid or something?

If it's any consolation he rates 2 items as follows

Signed Brentford home shirt 02/03 @ £100 starting bid

Signed Fulham away shirt 02/03 @ £0.01 starting bid
(£36 after 5 bids):p

Agreed on all the above. Be interesting to see if ne1 bids on it though.

This is his reply to me after I mailed him.....

After reading your posts on the official brentford messageboard I thought I
should email you to clear a few things up.

1)Firstly I am not a sick kid nor have I ever pretended to be.
2)I am fully aware of many nationwide teams struggerling finacialy at the
moment as we all are in life,
3)I have purchased this shirt directly from the club thus giving Brentford
my money
4)I am providing a service that many people appreciate, I can not see why
people on the message board would want to ruin my job and some genuine
bidders enjoyment from winning my auction,
5)bidding on Ebay and not honouring your bid is actually illegal, I do not
reccomend anyone to do this ?

please relay these messages to the messageboard

thanks

What a load of b*ll*ox. He and his ilk are parasites making a profit through the innocence and goodwill of footballers.

It seems that he has withdrawn the shirt completely. I shall of course be looking through QXL and Freeserve auction sites to see if its been offered for auction there.

1-0 to the Grapevine boys I reckon.

Pat yourselves on the back!

:D

Well what a cheeky chappy he is! And to cap it all the price seems to have dropped. Heres the link to a remarkably similar shirt that has come up for auction on QXL. Now if only I could remember my ID for that site as well ;)

This parasite needs to be stopped making a profit from our plight!

If as he says is true that he purchased the shirt from Brentford FC did he buy it already signed. If so, does the club have a deal with autograph companies to sell these shirts.

Wouldnt it be better for the club to offer them direct to the fans.

Got a very similar e-mail from the seller myself. I think he's a bit pi55ed off at the comments regarding bidding 1M on his shirt etc....

Leave him alone and let him get on with it...ebay is full of people exploiting others...the whole point is to make money!!

I THINK THIS LINK SHOULD BE CLOSED, before he gets his pants in a right twist!!

guess he sould just ignore us then if he's so clever.

This won't sound popular but if people are willing to pay the market price of £125 or similar, then so be it.

I don't see any problem in what he has done, and he shouldn't be critised for doing so either if his approach in getting the shirt autographed is not underhand.
