BFC & Journalists

Couldn't see any similar thread, so apologies if I've missed one more suitable.

Just seen that Jacob Murtagh has been promoted to Sports Editor of the Mirror online, which presumably will mean his beat now extends far beyond West London football (though of course, sport shouldend with West London football).

As someone ITK with the Bees, it will be interesting to see whether his replacement (if they get one) has the same interest or how it will affect our coverage in the press.

Given the struggling profitability of news media and that they seem to do more Googling than news gathering, I'd guess he'll not be replaced.

You are aware Tom Moore is a reporter for the same firm Jacob is/was with. He is a Brentford fan whereas I think Jacob was a qpr fan.
They both work for the head company Mirror Trinity.

FAKE NEWS !

Jacob is and has always been a Brentford fan and plays for Brentford's leading supporters team

Apology accepted

Jake went to the Mirror some time ago. He has/had excellent contacts and BFC, for a fair few good stories and was always reliable.

I'll say nothing further on the current standard of reporting.

I thought I remember him telling me he supported qpr. And yes obviously I'm aware he plays for your team. Maybe I misunderstood.

It's all a bit cosy...you never get any decent scoops, rumours etc

Doesn't Tim Streete also work for TM too? To be fair those of us out of west london find the getwestlondon coverage of the Bees good.

Ha, I might live here now mate but never worked in Stevo (apart from the odd match at the Lamex covering us, Wycombe, AFC Wimbledon and even Hampton & Richmond Borough).

I do indeed still work at TM but not worked full time on the Chron/GWL for a few years now, thanks for asking. My name will still crop up on GWL from time to time when helping out in my spare time or covering for holidays/lieu days, but it's not been my regular gig for a while now. Regards Tim 'no e on the end' Street. ;)
