That's why everyone is different , we deal with things our own way. myself im not doing any playoff games, because I know if we make it to Wembley, and I go, and we lose, that would just about do it for me, id find something else to do on a sat, I cant stand in the losing end again watching the other team celebrate .... so im staying away and will get a ST next season what ever division we are in..... right or wrong I don't know , just my personal choice.

I can fully understand feel much the same.

I will accept your comments if you have been going for a similar time (58 years) to me, its a lot easier to
be positive if you havent had the same number of letdowns

KB has been going for 40 plus years. I've been going for 40 years now. No matter how long your experience is, in supporting the bees, a little nudge here and there to get old stalwarts back down to GP is a must.

I was much the same immediately after last Saturday but I recovered quickly and by Tuesday realised I'd feel worse if I turned on Final score and saw we'd lost as I'd blame myself for not being there !!!!!

Ditto. 40 odd years for me too. Any Bees fan who physically can needs to get themselves to GP and cheer the boys into the final. If we get to Wembley we'll win, so get to GP tomorrow. "The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there." :no excuses:

Your choice mirrors mine, other than if we were to win or lose in the final l will be in another country.I will be getting my ST for next season and like yourself will be at away games with the usual suspects be it Carlise or Derby County when our team will also require our support.

I'd go tomorrow but I'm not a member etc etc.....so presume I'd be wasting my time? (don't think they will accept that I was at Chesterfield in 1983!)

What's done is done, can't change the past so look to the future.

Easy said than done I know but after 40+ years I'm not giving up now.

email the club (or MarkDevlin7 on twitter)... sure they'll be glad to take your cash :)

Uwe made a good point yeserday prior to the game, when asked about Brentford's fortunes in the playoffs he remarked that none of the squad (bar King Kev) nor he had been involved in the playoffs with Brentford so the history is irrelevant. I know why a few feel they just can't face going tomorrow or to Wembley if/when we get there but is that a bit of an insult to the current crop of players and Uwe?

Please do come along...as others have suggested email the club/Mr Devlin...they will be more than helpful I'm sure.

do you have proof of being at the game ? if thats your last Brentford appearance then its a bit hard to moan at the club.its been 4 months since the chelsea home game, plenty of time to become a memeber or get yourself on the database

In fairness NewBee I think this fella was clearing snow before the Tranmere game.

yes it is an insult..im not over the donny game and it still had an affect on me yesterday too but i was still there.i hate the fact we are in the play offs and cant help feel we will still blow it tomorrow or at wembley as its what Brentford have always done, cant help the pessimistic side in me with the Bees, but i will still be there as its vital to be so,none of this i cant hack being there sh*te.As much as i hate it,the fact is we are there and its too important that we as supporters are there...last thing we want is another stoke scenario where the game was lost before it started due to high lack in numbers.i dont know how fans call themselves fans by staying away

maybe so but how have regular Bees not made themselves a member in some way or got themselves on the database, you only have to pre book 1 game for yourself, home or away,to get on the database, saving a couple of quid in the process for the advance booking.Everyone who is a regular Bee knows the craic now....

the sad lack of sales for our home leg, prior to today as i dont know how many have been sold today, has put a downer on the game for me,i'd agree to making it pay on the gate but the Club wont do that

what were the epic failures before the frt final in 1985?

I can accept people having to work and people not being able to afford to go but to not attend because we might f*ck it up again is shocking, supporting any team is about enduring the high and the lows, experiencing the lows makes the highs even sweeter when they come along. Yes we might lose tomorrow, we might lose in 2 weeks at Wembley but we might, just might, win surely no Brentford fan would want to miss that?

People cant help what they feel I guess you have not been a supporter for 58 years, I cant help feeling that we are going to balls it up again and am feeling too low to face it, we are the team
that seems to have all the forwards but cant score, playing the team that appears to not have a lot up front but scores loads, I hope I am proved wrong but dad and I had over120 years between us
supporting the bees but I still fear the outcome will be the same.

im on about in my Bees lifetime which is knocking 30 years of going.Quite a long time of pretty much failure.
but as youve asked the question.what were the epic success for most Bees fans since the war?how many Bees fans are still alive from then?

ive been going for nearly 30 years, long enough with enough failure...the rest of what youve put is what i put in the post youve highlighted.not being there doesnt help

Mid 50's when 1 went up from third south and we finished 2nd, also I think the following year 2 went up and we finished third, anyway not relevant,
because non of this team were involved.

Warfield I have done 55 years, my Brother 32 years my Dad 60 years and my grandad about 40. Add in my kids And my brothers kids plus my maternal grandfather and we are knocking in well over 200 years!!

My Brother and I will both be there tomorrow ( sneaking off work in my case, driving up from Devon in his case) expectations muted but its in our blood and despite all the years of disappointment we still come back for more and will continue to do so whilst still able

I can understand the hurt and that other commitments may get in the way but if its just a case of hurting from last Sat , well that's what supporting this team is all about. You and your Dad have given a great commitment just go one further and see what happens

One thing I have learned is to expect the worst at all times which makes those rare good ones so much better

Come on one final effort and enjoy the ride!!

That's my attitude in life in general.
But apparently pessimism is a bad thing.
Can't see nout wrong with having an attitude like that personally.

A 30 year can only presumably have experienced hurt from 93'ish onwards so just less of the same sort of pain is older suffered which started back in 72. We got up courtesy of John O'Maras goals and then let him go for £30k to Blackburn and didn't replace him going straight back down with the leading goalscorer a midfielder who scored 6 goals. We've seen the club sell our best players and not replace
costing us promotion with Forster and relegation in Deanos case. Losing Forster was made even more painful as that was the year when only one team got automatic promotion and we were well clear in second place, got the away draw at Huddersfield after missing a sitter and drew at home then lost on a penalty shoot out.
In summary we just have even more years of suffering than those only 30 now. Maybe it's just a bit too much for some who are thinking that a break with tradition might just change our fortunes and they'll be back with a season ticket for us whether we're up or down.

sonofabee, I've been there for all the lows you mention, but I've also been there for Newport, Blackburn, Man City, Darlo, Peterboro, etc. etc. Can you really imagine missing one of those because you'd thrown in the towel? As someone sang yesterday "we missed a pen, who gives a f+ck, we're super Brentford and we're going up!". Until the fat lady sings, you've got to keep on keeping on :xmas:

I'll be there but I personally know of at least two genuine, diehard fans who do home and away and bleed red and white who couldn't face the play offs. I feel their pain, can't quite believe they won't be there but not going to start criticising them if that's how it's affected them and they believe the best way they can deal with it.

got to GP at 3.30pm and a steady flow of punters still trickling in, buying tickets.
2 windows open, quickly serving everyone who turned up.
The club are expecting a last minute rush tomorrow and are hoping for a 10K gate.

I admire your commitment and tenacity, unfortunately Dad is no longer with us, but good luck for tomorrow maybee me not going will change our luck, I just have to admit I no
longer have the desire to put myself through the pain, even the TV pundits said they had never seen anything like last Sat. in all their careers.
