Big Ron Manager 2

With the club now in dire straits; is it time to call in Big Ron? Initially, this may seem ridiculous because after all he has won little in his managerial career. However, the revenue from Sky will help shorten the defecit in the budget this year. In addition, Ron's involvement will also attract the media's attention which could in turn improve the attendance. At the moment if nothing changes it seems that Brentford's relegation is inevitable unless something changes. Realistically Brentford cannot afford financially to sack Rosenior so why not try a mentor especially if they are going to pay Brentford for the privilege. If nothing else, some of Ron's contacts in the game may be able to generate a decent loan signing or two. We could also get lucky as well if Rosenoir decides to take exception thus deciding to quit just like Bleasdale at Peterborough. Therefore, Brentford would avoid having to make a compensation pay out.

Having outlined the attractions to Brentford; what are the attractions for Sky? Obviously, the location being just down the road from their studios. Also, the state that the club is in. It could make great TV to see if Big Ron's 'influence' can save the fans club Brentford from relegation. They could use all the usually speel like 'little money to spend in the lower league' and the dramatic fall in league position since May. Rosenior would also be considered a rookie manager ( well, it sounds better than useless!).

I'm all in favour of a quick call to Sky. What do you think?

We'd have nothing to lose! Especially as were a ship sinking without a trace.

We'd get publicity, an experienced head helping out (possibly so much that the manager feels undermined if he's still here) we'd get some extra income and we won't get any worse.

Since it wouldn't solve the problem of player attitude, no. Unless...

The money used from the proceeds pays off Leroy, and Racist Ron actually takes over the reigns (and gets his hands dirty in lower league football) for the benefit of the cameras. I know the Big Ron Manager series was edited to Ron's favour, but it did seem as though he had the respect of the players.

Does anyone else see the obvious problem with this?

The number of black employees on the books at BFC? And our reputation for equal opps that BU is so proud of?

Worth a punt..............to run alongside the bank of mum and dad for the board. We want the finances explained and straightened:eek: as much as, if not more than, the playing staff.

Correct.

I don't think Ron is the monster he has been made out to be but can't see Leroy etc taking much of a shine to him.

Someone mentioned the problem about the amount of black employees at the club. Personally, I think that Big Ron is not a racist and it was him talking his usually rubbish without thinking that made him make that comment. Arguably, Ron Atkinson was at his best when he was at West Brom. This was when he successfully pioneered the introduction of 3 black players into the team: Cunningham, Regis and forgot the other one. Black players that he has managed such as Carlton Palmer openly refute the fact that Big Ron is racist. Therefore, coming to Brentford would give him the chance to finally put this matter to rest.

It would make for great tele though. And of course Ron was vilified beyond his crime, but Racist Ron still has a ring to it. :)

There is a difference between using a racist word and actually being racist. Anyway, why not?

Good thinking !

He knows Barry Fry at Peterborough now.

And he spent time helping at Swindon.

Wonder if they've got a spare striker we could loan ? :)

And I could really do with our misfortune being televised .... I don't get the piss taken out of me enough at work as it is.

Why don't we go the whole hog and have the word "losers" tattooed on our foreheads?
