Big Ron Manager

Has anyone else read about this Sky One documentary starting on Wednesday, a fly on the wall look at Peterborough last season when Barry Fry sent in Big Ron to 'help' out there manager Bleasdale and he undermined him so much he resigned in the dressing room before a game.

All this is gonna be on camera and i reckon could be funnier than a lot of comedies.

Big Ron Manager

caught on advert for this last night, looks like essential viewing.

Big Ron Manager

Willock was at Peterborough early last season.....

Big Ron Manager

Fat Boy Fry and the Ego Atkinson.

Not high on my list of essential viewing. Its just behind Celebrity Ballroom Get Me out of this Island Brother, on a Horse.

Big Ron Manager

couldn't really concentrate on it due to penalty drama (or lack of gpg :nono: ). But seemed like enjoyable viewing, interesting to see how players actually behave on and off a matchday. Few of their players, mainly that St Ledger, seemed a bit to big for their boots, especially when they went on a factory visit.
Looking forward to the next few weeks as they manage to fall out of the play-off places.
Incidentally, I heard things are so bad at Posh, that Barry Fry's mothers deeds of the house are with the bank to cover the club !!
No wonder Leroy is flat sharing !

.........and this was just a couple of weeks after we beat him down to £50k for Willock......no wonder he was uptight about the finances.......

Big Ron Manager

Sunglasses Ron, Mickey Mouse and Barry Fry what a combination!!!

Bleasdale was all mouth not really a manager so to speak. For the money that Posh got for having Ron you cant really blame them for taking the orange man.

Big Ron Manager

Apparently posh fans were singing "we should be watching sky one" last night during their penalty shoot out lol

Big Ron Manager

Manager was out of his depth but you can't blame him for feeling resentful about Ron coming in and cameras being poked at him. Ofcourse he was insecure. Seemed to me that the whole programme was a Barry Fry ego opportunity.

Big Ron Manager

Just shows Bleasdale didnt have a clue by changing the formation up to 4 times during one game. Also played passing football in training all week then wanted to lump it forward on match days.

Big Ron Manager

what a clown that Bleasedale was, he even managed to upset the Bury fans with his antics. Loved the bit when he was trying to explain to a few posh hotheads, that he had taken Crow off because he had the sh*ts, they didn't have a clue what he was talking about.
Still think that St Ledger is an absolute A1 kno*head.

Yes, him and Crow have not come out of this well. Editing or no editing they seem spoilt brats.

Loved Bleasdale last week: "When you battle, you ****ing BATTLE!"

Interesting though isn't it, a lot of people said we should have made a move for Crow, but when you see his attitude, it stinks, Barry Fry's reaction when told by Bleasedale that they refused to do extra training was humerous. Loved the fact St Ledger was complaining about it all, then come the Cobblers game he thinks he's Rio and McGleish mugs him off and scores, lovely.

Yeah, and I loved Big Ron slagging Rio off compared to Terry. :D

were the best players at the club last year along with Semple who was interviewed by the fan who they actually flogged to Lincoln in the summer.

Crow is a very good player but its ver gonna work with a shouting manager like Bleasdale.

Big Ron Manager

..................Posh are selling their fans now!!???...................I never read that in the Peterborough Evening Telegraph..............

whoops user error! i was referring to Semple (always rated him myself) had trials higher up in the past but Alexander didnt fancy him and got rid to Lincoln

Big Ron Manager

Bleasdale is going to end up like that Orient manager a few years ago .. forget his name , but the one who ranted and swore at his players .. he never managed again after that TV programme :D

Did not see last nights, but saw last weeks .. when there was a :box: in the dressingroom after the game :D

Big Ron Manager

Bleasdales reaction to the win in the changing room was ridiculous, just showed how desperate the times had got for him last season. Crowe and St.Ledger are good players but they seem to have a real chip on their shoulders. I did laugh when Bury got that penalty, when they scored that I was just willing them to get an rqualiser, just to see Bleasdales reaction!!

Big Ron Manager

I know that Bleasdale wants to be his own man, but he should have listen to and appreciated much more the stuff that Ron was suggesting - Bleasdale takes no notice of the guidance and often Ron was 100% right about the situation. He does afterall have a million years of experience at the top level.

It's extremely interesting to see how a manager "loses the dressing room" - I had never really thought about what that really meant, but this programme makes it extremely clear. Bleasdale didn't have a clue how to make the step up from coach to manager, and even the players saw what he needed to do - he just failed to do it.

He thought the best way to get them on his side was to be their mate. It doesn't work in the lower divisions. Wally was a bit like that, some of the players called him Wal instead of Gaffer or Boss and the lines were blurred.

Martin did not have that problem. :D

Fantastically funny episode tonight as Big Fat Barry Fry decides to pick the team and Bleao resigns in the dressing room an hour before kick-off!

Big Ron Manager

Fry showed what a prize cocck he was.....forcing Bleaso to pick St Leger at CB, so he would maintain his market value in the shop window, then turning round and saying to the displaced CB, thet he didnt pick the team.
Then he told 3 players they were in the team, contrary to managers instructions...tells Bleaso that he will pick the team....picks the team in front of the lads, then is surprised when Bleaso walks.....

Big Ron Manager

Exactly. I was ****ing myself laughing. I think Atkinson was bemused by it. Have to feel for Bleao, though - what a bunch of ***** that team contained! Who bought St Ledger?

Big Ron Manager

I know he comes accross as a complete div but I can't help but feel sorry for Bleasdale.

Before Ron turned up, Bleasdale was in charge of 6 games and Peterbrough won 4 of them.
Out of the remaining 13 games of the season that Ron was involved in, they only won 3, drew 1 and lost 9!!

Could Barry Fry not see a pattern there?

Big Ron Manager

I have always liked Big Ron ... but he comes across as losing his marbles a bit

What a shower the Peterborough team were though and St Ledger has a real attitude problem ..

I know I might get slated for saying this .. I cant help but like Barry Fry .. a real character .. he says exactly how he sees it :D ..:sneakoff:

Big Ron Manager

This is what got Bleasdale to resign. The players didn't give a toss. It gives a valuable insight into how a gang of four or five players can disrupt a season and create havoc.

Fry was protecting his asset - St.Ledger - and his mortgage. I think Posh are going nowhere with him in charge - he just hasn't got the business skills or spare cash to do anything with the club.

Big Ron Manager

Crow was just as bad IMHO. What must have been most annoying for Fry and co was that the senior pros just sat back and watched it happen, rather than taking the troublemakers to one side and sorting them out.

Big Ron Manager

Very funny last night, Ron and Fry said he could have handled leaving better but what was he suppposed to do.? The players behaved like spoilt children !!

Big Ron Manager

Didnt see last nights but Posh released a statement the other day saying they had received a lot of interest from potential buyers through the screening of the sky one programme.

.................didn't he go to Preston for a down payment of £250,000....? I think to replace ??Tyrone Mears??....(the bloke that West Ham signed from Preston)..........(as always Ed, I stand to be corrected!)............
