Many thanks to all those that bought an issue on the New Road. What a change to see people actually smiling and looking forward to a game for a change. By the way, was that you Nurse Betty who I had a quick chat with?

Great issue once more fellas. Particuarly liked the article about martin allen coming back when butcher was under pressure. Why did andy scott not get on with woodman?

the Woodman scenario involves what he said about certain players and his time at BFC, i'm sure GreenholmeBee and TITS or even BeeH could enlighten us more if they wanted.

The bit about Butcher not having bothered to call Andy to congratulate him or having any subsequent contact says it all really, what a completely self-absorbed *****. And I'd definitely recognise one if I saw one ;)

Hi. Yes another attendee of the ivy shop in richmond, plains, brogues and tassells and of course fringe and buckle. Never wore them till i had them quarter tipped at local cobblers, or blakeys if you couldnt afford that. Also remember Cheeky Petes and Brollies ha! I also had the Crombie to go with the Ben Sherman and a couple of pairs of two tones or Levi sta-press-had to have the braces to Ha!!!!!!!

Mmmmm not strictly true.. more of a case that AW 'allegedly' ripped someone off that AS took exception to... the story maybe for another day.. but it is why we asked the question, to get that sort of reaction!

As a new fan, i picked up my first ever copy at Barnet last night. Been reading it tonight and I must say its a very good read. Will definetly be getting the next issues. Well Done :)

One query though Greenholme, you introduce Richard Archer as 30 years old, yet in the metro a couple of months ago he was 31 and on wikipedia he is 34. Was that wishful thinking on his part or lazy journalism on yours?:fishing:

Apparantly my wife reckons she's 21. Not sure if that's age or weight though.

My front page fix thingy is loose, or will i have to accept an exchange or credit note?

i think GB bought the cheap tesco glue stick instead of the pukka ***** (I meant Pritt..sorry) Stick.

Just finished it. A very good read it was too :sorted:

Most informative, as I learned a few things.

1.

After learning that Butcher's not even got in touch to congratulate Andy Scott on his excellant start in management, he's not quite the hero I thought he was.

2.

Andy Woodman is the ****er I thought he was.

3.

Reading the article on getting Brookers autograph after the Barnet match. I've learned that Rich is much funnier than his brother :sorted: ;)

So we don't expect to see him back anytime soon as goalkeeper coach then !!

I read his book with interest and he came over as a bit of a wideboy to say the least - and I suspect that many of the stories were watered down for publication.

I also thought that with the exception of one magic day at Cambridge where he was touched with genius he totally underperformed at Brentford and was very, very average given his previous excellence at Northampton

Had a call from another League keeper the day we signed AW "he's a bottle job who blames everyone else but himself, can dish out stick but can't take it" and time proved that to be the case imho.

Was there any other Bees keeper who couldn't kick it past the halfway line or does that 'honour' rest solely with AW ?

Benno was very poor with the ball at his feet if I remember.

I was sad enough to watch the highlights tape from 1999-2000 recently and I was amazed at just how many goals Woodman was responsible for through poor positioning, unwillingness to come for crosses and reluctance to come and attack players through on goal.

He was really poor and below standard.

he was a signing for signing's sake by Noades when we already had 2 decent keepers in Pearcey and Dearden. A total waste of money.

The only thing he learnt from that lesson was where Wincanton, Beverley and Taunton are!

Even worse you were so pissed I took a tewnty off of ya and only gave change for a fiver.
