Excellent read. Listened to Billy on radio London giving it to Robert Elms a couple of weeks ago about how his Pemerier League team were back in training. Emphasising Premier League unlike Elms's Rara equivalents. Elms didn't bite or respond at all in fact.

I've always admired Billy's entertaining and humorous Bees commentaries which brought so many inaccessible games alive on a Sat afternoon and Tues evening. I had no idea of his other amazing talents and his near disastrous accident. What a great man.

I was at theaudience’s debut gig at Staines Town Hall. The Helicopter of the Holy Ghost album is beautiful. Stream or buy the vinyl.

Billy is very good company - I learnt of this story as he retold it driving back from a Swansea 3 nil defeat a few seasons back. The car journey was far more interesting than the game.
Im very lucky to have met some very good people following the Bees, Billy is definitely one of these.

The woman is stunningly beautiful. Seems to a lovely person. Has 5 kids and a stable marriage with never a hint of personal scandal (and you can bet The Scum have spent 2 decades trying to find some).
She is perfection.

Billy and I started chatting occasionally at half time back at GP, mainly just because my seat was between his seat and the stairwell. Such a nice guy, such a great positive attitude, I hope to bump into him again soon!

Seemed like a nice bloke when I have met him a few times and terrible accident – hope things continue to mend moving forward.

Re. the music – TBH I found TheAudience very dull. I found his earlier band, The Grooveyard, more interesting. Hope he does well with his new record.

I can’t speak for Billy but know him well. It’s highly unlikely the gig next April will go ahead. As for more music under that moniker, I’d be surprised. Mark has forever tainted the project.

I know he is terribly upset. Mark has seemingly ruined a lot of peoples lives and killed the careers of the other Bluetones as a collective over the allegations. Why can't people just be honest and nice to each other. Thoughts are with the women and kids affected and also to Billy as I know how much effort and heart he had put into this project.

Totally agree with all of that mate. Not only has he affected those women’s lives he’s killed off a few livelihoods of innocent people as well.

Indeed. Billy did not know Mark and was recommended by someone else so as you can imagine he is quite upset by what has gone on. If I was him I would recut the vocals with someone else and re-release the album.

There is not a lot of coming back from that for Mark, but these are only allegations. But like she says he can sue her if she is wrong.

I’m stunned by the allegations, I was listening to the Bluetones this morning.
I agree, I can’t see him coming back from this, he sounds like a total sh*t head.

He has already denied the assault allegations, and I’m not sure what gas lighting even is. I will look it up.
He has however, admitted to not behaving very morally in his personal life, which on the face of it seems an understatement.
It’s easy to forget that is 50, and this sounds like a mother a of mid life crisis.
