Didn't Tony Cottee play for 4 relegated sides in the same season?
Barnet, Leicester, Millwall and one other.

Don't think they were all relegated but he played in all 4 division for West Ham, Leicester, Millwall (I'm taking your word on that one) and Barnet

It was Leicester, Norwich, Milwall and Barnet. In 2000/1. Only Barnet were relegated (mainly due to his crap spell as player-manager). Millwall won the League One title.

It was Norwich and not West Ham, the season was 2000-01.
Would be so much better if they'd each been relegated.

Blimey . What a cock! :pop:

My mates a Blackburn s/t holder (so naturally he's got a ticket for the Chelsea game) and the strong rumour at Ewood Park is after Blackburn lost 7-0 at Old Trafford. Keen went to the board and told them just how incompentant Allardyce was and demanded to be appointed, and they did it!

If that had never happened I don't think they'd be in the championship now!

No sympathy for Appleton either. He chose to join them knowing the background. Anyone employing him in the future would be wise to offer a week-to-week contract.

A rookie manager should be building a solid reputation at one club like Uwe is doing, not jumping between clubs. The boy's a fool. His next job will be at a skint lower division side.

Blackburn Chicken

Are they trying to break the record for most managers in one season? What complete idiots, and Appleton was a fool for taking the job, unless he wanted a quick move back down south with a big pay-off.

Blackburn Chicken

Really, you do wonder who is going to want to manage there now, but then this is planet football, so there will always be some chancer ready to step up. They deserve to be relegated. I'd like to see what bullshit explanation they come up with to explain a second successive relegation!

Blackburn Chicken

I wouldn't be surprised if their next manager is one of their own players.

Reminds me of Mark Lawrenson being (probably) the only player to have won a champion's medal in the old Div 1 and been relegated from Div 1 in the same season.

Amazing to think he was a highly rated coach who was always linked with decent managerial jobs 18 months ago.

Blackburn Chicken

Seem to recall a number of posters on here wanted him before Rosler was appointed

Just goes to show what bad career moves can do for your reputation.

Blackburn Chicken

Why don't they make the chicken manager?

Blackburn Chicken

Wouldn't relegation just be the icing on the cake for this ridiculous club?

Yep, harsh treatment of Kean and since he has left the fans have deserted the club. None at Arsenal, none against Millwall. Idiots running the club and a manager who whored himself out everywhere without having ever done anything in management. Glad its ending (or is it just beginning) in tears.

:shocked:Just about Sums up the judgment of some of the posters on GPG

Managers reputations change like the wind though (I didn't really want Appletonbut can see why perhaps others did) just look at Redknapp, Di Matteo, Karl Robinson, Mark Robins, Steve Clark, Zola and see how their reps have changed both positively and negatively in the last 12months. Have their managerial abilities and capabilities changed that much in that period?

the fun goes on: it seems the MD has been suspended while they investigate why Henning Berg thinks he's owed 2m quid in compensation - sounds like the contract wasn't properly checked or something, but whose fault is that then......... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22026971

they are only one point off second-bottom too...

I'd be surprised if that was Derek Shaw's fault, he is an astute businessman and ran PNE very well.

Blackburn Chicken

ahhh but it's NEVER the Venky's fault (according to them)

Henning Berg has won his court case against Blackburn for unfair dismissal.
