Bournemouth - 3rd March

The easiest way to get to Bournemouth's ground, is to Pokesdown statoin on the SWT line out of Waterloo (and obviously Clapham Junction - yippee!). Anyway, direct trains do operate, but are very slow, so your best bet is to change at Winchester.

From Clapham Junction at 52 minutes past the hour to Winchester (arrive 50 past the hour). Then onto a connecting service at 57 minutes past the hour arriving at 50 minutes past the hour. Total Journey time about 2 hours.

Yeah the trains down here in Bournemouth were screwed last weekend, with no trains running at all. Looking forward to this one since the fixtures came out. From the station go up the Holdenhurst Road for about 10mins and then their will be a turning on the right. There are buses that go down this way (about 55p). The ground is right next to a park can't remeber the name. Watch out for strret parking, boscombe is not the most friendly place and there are a few breakins!

There are two stations that you could travel to Pokesdown or Bournemouth Central

To confirm what's been said earlier, there will be problems with rail travel on the day because of engineering works in the area.

As examples of the services available:
depart London (Waterloo) 10:15, arr. Southampton 11:36; from here a bus will depart at 11:50 which arrives Bournemouth Central 12:50

Return depart Bournemouth Central 1750 by bus to Winchester; arr. Winchester 1850; depart Winchester by train @ 1908; arr. London Waterloo 2014.

Very easy to drive about 1hr 30mins, down the A316 from Chiswick, till M3, turn of at M27, go till that runs out, then turning off for Bournemouth (can't remember name) 8miles down till Bournemouth, then its sign posted. Charminster is a good area to park in, i've had no trouble and have been there for about 6 months

Travelling by rail

According to the local rag down here tonight the engineering on Saturday is only between Southampton Central and Totton (which is a couple of miles west of the city centre). Once the bus gets going it will only take about 10-15 mins to Totton assuming thats where the train will start again from.

If this is the case other than getting on a bus, the journey shouldn't be too bad.

The early connections from Southampton to Bournemouth are by bus only.However,return trains WILL run from Bournemouth to Clapham Junction and Waterloo.Not such a bad journey after all!
