Was thinking about it, but....

1) £50 for the cheap seats in a stadium is a bit too rich for me. You'll be miles away from the action.

2) I don't think the fight should happen at this stage. Some sort of meaningful sanctions should have been imposed on the fighters after the Munich debacle.

Boxing

Agree just hope that as they are both in last chance saloon that they actually fight one another!!! Hate when two fighters give it the big I am and discuss how they are going to this and that to there opponent and the fight turns out to be a complete bore feat!!! That's why I have begun watching more UFC at least you are guaranteed they will actually fight one another

Looks like any British fighters who appear on the undercard, will have their licences taken away, so it might be a bit of a short card.

Boxing

Was gonna go but £50 for restricted view tickets at Upton Park what a rip off!!

After the original fight I just thought their were a lot of sour grapes from the Khan camp about losing but subsequent revelations and events surely must necessitate voiding that fight and giving Khan his titles back?

Will do my best to go out of my way not to watch this. Shouldn't be allowed to happen in this country after their disgraceful antics.
Only good thing will probably be the voilence in the crowd from both camps.

Carl froch.......that was ****ing magnificent. One of the great world title performances, well worth staying up for!!

Boxing

Yeah unbelievable performance especially given Bute was favourite. Rematch with kessler must be on the cards. Credit to nottingham, sounded like a great atmosphere.

Boxing

Yep, awesome performance. Bute did not stand a chance. Bit mad at the end as it did look like the ref stopped it then started counting. Bute's corner did the right thing.

I take it that 'promoter' who got in the ring prematurely is the Leyton Orient Chairman's son?

Yeah. Barry Hearn handed over Matchroom Boxing to Eddie a couple of years ago.

Unbeleavable night. Shows what a travesty it is that he doesn't get the same recognition that the likes of Hatton did.

Boxing

Thought so... Haven't watched a fight for years before last night. Good one to catch.

I immediately didn't like Hearn Jr because I thought he looked like the MK Dons manager sitting at ringside.

That was one of the best performances I have seen by a British boxer for a long time, Froch destroyed him from the first round.

Boxing

the Paul Williams story is pretty sad. shows how quickly and easily a motorbike can ruin you

Boxing

Definitely. Easily best fight I've ever seen live.

Lloyd Honeyghan beating the undefeated Don Curry?? in his own back yard was a bit special. The Yank was 1/20 to win that fight and Honeyghan was purely having a payday, Curry sat in his seat and wouldn't get up after the unexpected hammering.
Nigel Benn v Gerald McClellan was a bit special, the tragedy afterwards obviously soured it.

McGuigan/Pedroza (sp) takes some beating in my book

Froch was brilliant, though.

Haye/ Chisora-probably a bore fest-more action outside the ring!

Boxing

Froch was immense on Saturday. He just oozes class, and seems like quite a level headed and grounded fellow. Would love him to fight Andre Ward again, he has a point to prove there

Live as in actually attended the fight. I was not in Atlantic City or at Laughatus Road for either of those fights.

Yeah, terrible. Was meant to be fighting Saul Alvarez in September. Sounds like it wasn't his fault. Had to avoid a car that was negotiating a turn and ended up in oncomming traffic.

Boxing

no comment on here about the pac-bradley fight? sounds like a complete travesty

just to follow up on the "great fights", i read about Chavez-Taylor in 1990 - wow, what an amazing fight that was  good 30min youtube thing here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFQ2oJ3asaM

Boxing

RIP.

He could punch and if he had been American could possibly have been one of the true great heavyweights.

Boxing

Very disappointed for both munroe and quigg tonight. Clash of heads in the 4th rendered the fight a no contest basically. Horrendous cut for munroe.

A lot of hard work and prep leading up to last night only for it to end in that way. Didn't warm to Quigg though.

That fight should be a cracker.

Kell Brook is a very special talent and if he can swerve Khan's speed he'll win that ruck.

Also,

Looking forward to seeing Fraudley Harrison retire once again tomorrow night.

Could be interesting...still a little unconvinced by Kell...not seen enough about him that he is the prodigal son we are all waiting for.

Plus although Kahn has a chin made of balsa wood, he can still be a top fighter if he can shut his mouth and concentrate on training.

One way or another, it will either Make Kell and break Khan or prove that Kell doesn't have it, and that Khan can get back towards the top.

Boxing

Kell Brook looked so good last night against a dangerous opponent. Very much looking forward to seeing him fight for the world title.
The Other youngster Kal Yafai looks a prodigious talent - certainly one to watch.
:love boxing:

Boxing

Another punch perfect performance from The Cobra.
A wonderful world champion to be proud of.
:love2:

Boxing

Great display from Froch and now he has the potential of three mega fights against Ward, Kessler and Bute. Interesting that Frank Warren doesn't consider him world class. His fight record especially in the last few years suggests otherwise. He has fought a huge cluster of quality opponents.

He also claims that Froch dodged Calzaghe twice, I was under the impression it was the other way round.

Just got back from Nottingham. Was a good performance, he didn't hang around, although it was obvious that he was about two levels above Mack.
As for Warren, he. Is ultra-critical of anything and anyone that is no promoted by himself.

Boxing

He is finished.., hope his family/coaches tell it is enough.. But knowing boxing they will keep him going to take a beating as long as the money is rolling in..

Doubt it.

I think this was all about Ricky teying to go back to a place where he was happy, after all the troubles he has had. He wasn't that bad, but he shouldn't have taken on such a high level opponent for his first fight in three years as his timing was well off.

Flintoff wins his first fight on pts after being floored in the second round.
