Brizzle Rovers

Hi Bees,

Thought I'd say I'm so sorry to see you relegated. I was in London on Sat (to see Charlton v Sheff Utd as part of my never-ending ground-hopping exercise) and thought about nipping down to see GP but didn't have the time. I'd love to say we, Lincoln, will play you next season, but kinda hop we go up to League 1 via the play-offs!

Anyway - we played Brizzle Rovers on Sat in cider country and it reminded me of a conversation with a Bees mate a few years ago. I know he (and most Bees) hate Brizzle Rovers a lot more than City or many other clubs outside the M25 - but why is this?

Discussion starts...now! rofl

Do we? I personally get the feeling that they are a bit of a jinx club as we have had some embarrassing results and incidents against them in the past. In turn we have been a bogie team for B City though (this sh*te season excepted of course).

Brizzle Rovers

First I have heard about it. They mean nothing to me, maybe some older boys can enlighten me.

Bit of a joke that they think they are a big club but have done nothing to prove it for decades.

Brizzle Rovers

losing 6-2 to them at griffin park :nono: AFTER they'd sold all their strikers as well  bad memories.

couldnt give a toss about them otherwise

When was this defeat, Houghton Bee?

I always thought Bees might hate them because of Ollie and his daft quotes!

Brizzle Rovers

I took along my sweatie ex bird with a shovel face so must have been between December 2000 and the end of that season. Complete guess April 2001 :computer:

Can't have been that season - we played them in 2001/02 when mullet heid Gerry Francis had his ill-fated time back at the Mem.

They somehow won 1-0 at the Bank but we beat them 2-1 in Ciderspace courtesy of goals from Peter Gain and Justin 'The Big Gay Hairdresser' Walker. Great days  .

The funny thing about that was that we was all singing "Where's your strikers gone" to them before the game lol lol

Doe to the fact they all pissed themselves laughing (a whole pub full taking the piss as my coach trudged past at snail's pace) when they sent us down last time we went down.

This time people just feel sorry for us! :(

If it's any help I maintain a level of hatred for either bristol club well above my average standard. Mostly due to the fact that I hate the town and only bad things ever happen there and the accent makes me want to cheesegrate my ears off, there is no stupider accent, they are all inbred retards and if I could I would level the whole place and make it a suburb of cardiff just to **** them off.

Furthermore, if I remember correctly despite that score line they got relegated that year.

Brizzle Rovers

I couldn't care less about them, but i was at 'that whistle' game, and that wasn't much fun.

Brizzle Rovers

Great tits and blonde curly hair. I think she was fit as **** to be quite fair, way out of my league, it was only Goodminton who referred to her as shovel face :mad2:

Brizzle Rovers

did they laugh at us when we drew 2-2 at Twerton Park and failed to go up as Birmingham won?

I remember them having to walk in front of the away terrace at the end of the game.

Not too many of them were laughing.:sneakoff:

Brizzle Rovers

I hate them with a passion - even more than I hate Leyton Orient.

Brizzle Rovers fans are always trying to pretend that they are a 'big' club - they didn't have a ground for years and only have one now because the rugby club went bust.

I hate the crap away terraces at Twerton Park and the Memorial ground for which they charge top dollar.

Fat Bee Slim and I spent many unhappy hours mingling in motorway services full of mouthy Brizzle fans who seemed to take over the whole place.

That mouthy taxi driving git on their tannoy always annoyed me with his many shouted comments running down the opponents and shouting up Brizzle.

Their fans laughing when they relegated us and making spiteful comments as we went back to the car.

The only good thing is they took Holloway (worst player ever to wear a Bees shirt) off us - and many money for the useless twerp!

Jeez! I hate them more every minute that I think about them!

Brizzle Rovers

I have some family who are Rovers fans and it is indeed true that apart from City we feature high on their most hated list. Can't really understand why, but the last time I went (first game following promotion last time) I was treated to a really hard time by Rovers fans despite being in the company of some of their fellow fans. I was very happy to get away from that sh*tty ground without blood being spilt.

Another funy thing is that within the city of Bristol itself (apart from areas close to Ashton Gate) most locals are Rovers fans. City fans tend to come from oustide of Bristol itself.

So a sort of "Sheepshagging Manure" then?:)

:nono: :nono:

Urban Myth. Rovers territory is North West Bristol and City have the rest.

I'm not that kean on either of them.

I remember when City come to GP and sing "If you all ahte Bristol Rovers" we joined in and Rovers sang that same thing about City we'd join in with that as well.

Me too, what a pisser that game was.

Didn't we play them a couple of weeks later in the LDV and their fans were taking the piss out of our keeper for that game not realising that it was Tamer in goal and not Dearden.

  but nobody hates Leyton Orient, the resident league patsies.

Bristol Rovers had many great years under Bert Tann but since then they've been your basic zero.

I seem to remember going on one of the supporters coaches and it broke down on the way.. We arrived after kick off just in time to see Brizzle score.... and it was pissing down with rain an' all.... :(

When I was 6 we moved from Ealing to Whitchurch in Bristol then to Portishead a couple of years later. All my mates were either sh*ty or Rovers fans. I got the piss taken out of me all the time. But if the Bees beat Rovers the sh*ty mates loved me and visa versa.

Remember a few years ago the Bees played City in the play-offs. I think we've had them twice if I recall once in the 90's and more recent. Well me dad said he went to the local pub in Burnham-on-Sea, where he lived at the time, to watch the match.
In the pub were lots of city fans and him, as he thought the sole Bees fan. If we score I'd best be quiet he thought.......till we did score , half the pub erupted with a loud cheer, as the Rovers fans celebrated our goal. :D rofl

Brizzle Rovers

Well we lost to Brizzle on Thursday. They're well supported but so many of their fans are such w****rs.
