Can we not start with the following motion to force an EGM?

" The BU Membership wish to promote a vote of no confidence in the BU Board, as recent events have shown they are unable to take Brentford Football Club forward in anyway"

Just post your support below and when I get 100 names I will PM you for your membership details. I think 100 would be enough for them to cave in.

I will join BU to kick things off.

Well I don't so that's the end of that.

I want McGlashan and Callen out of BFC but I ain't likely to get it am I?

Bigbee, that's not the motion I would want to support. I'd like to call for

(1) McGlashan's resignation from both boards - no confidence

(2) An immediate end to people sitting on more than one board - it should be BU or BFC and if you are a BU-nominated director on the BFC board, you must be held to account.

Look around you at the various groups - you have BU directors on the BFC board, BIAS committee members on the BU board, the ABeeC Councillor chairing BIAS. It's not right, it's not healthy and it should be sorted out. Some of the individuals concerned are beyond reproach in my view, but it's about being seen to be right, now, not just being right.

Above all, John Mac must go. Even if he is 100% not to blame for any of the awful disasters to befall us, (a) they have happened on his watch, (b) he has run away and hidden from the supporters, (c) he is drawing a salary for this - and that is not compatible with the way he refuses to be held to account or the directorships he holds. It's time to go, John. In fact it's past time to go.

I support the motion, calling for the resignation of John McGlashan.

Like a critical friend you mean :)

What happened to the full post from beezy babe to which this was your response.

I have done my very best with BIAS in general and beezybabe in particular but if she regards our little tickles with a feather duster as criticism then I need to devote more time to roughing up BIAS. That will be a pity as they are all that we have left now but these cozy little clubs need to be broken up before OUR club implodes.........

What is she on about exactly as I may need to remind her about a few things......... :mad1:

...........and yours is a very dangerous and illogical view indeed in my opinion Mr Edmundo.

Once you start with that you become part of the problem.........nobody is beyond reproach.............

I deleted my post as I decided that it wasn't very well thought out. Nana has pulled out a few words totally out of context so I wouldn't pay too much attention to them tbh abee. My comments weren't aimed at you anyway so I really wouldn't worry!

I am not sure what you mean in that you have 'done your best with BIAS and me in particular' - we obviously value your opinions in the same way that we do everybody elses, but outside of that I seem to have missed exactly what it is you have been trying to do. If you wish to PM me to enlighten me then feel free!

And thanks for the offer but I really don't need you to remind me of anything. :sorted:

Just to clarify your points regarding BIAS Ed.

There is one BIAS Committee member who is also on the BU due to the loan note that BIAS hold. We have been very careful to ensure that there is no clash between this individuals two roles - in fact generallly it has been useful for us to have that connection with BU in order to have first hand information on their plans.

With regard to our Chair being ABeeC Councillor, I appreciate your concerns, but this has also not caused any problems as yet, and again, there have been times when it has been useful for us to have someone with that inside information on the Committee.

As I've said before, the current BIAS Committee feel strongly that we should be totally independent from BU and the Club so that there can be no conflict of interests should a situation arise where we need to oppose either party. So far, I am confident that this hasn't happened.

How can you say that if you don't even know what I'm talking about........ :)

Personally beezybabe I think that you should be the first female director of Brentford Football Club..........now there's a thought.......maybe I'll re-direct my efforts to that end goal and that'll learn ya........... :sorted:

er...no thanks lol I am quite happy with the career I have!! lol

And if we're trying to be clever then you can't 'remind me' of something that I never knew, you can only tell me. And as I've said before - feel free!! :D

Beezy, I wasn't meaning to have a pop at BIAS, and that was the gist of my "beyond reproach" comment, that abee has pulled me up on. It probably isn't the right phrase - what I meant was that just because you have a conflict of interest, doesn't mean you've acted in bad faith.

I take your point about the loan note holder - and if the loan note holders are happy for a BIAS rep to represent them, then sobeit. But it should be clear to the individual and everyone else, that his first loyalties are to BIAS.

And as for the Chair, I didn't say that it had caused problems, or would cause problems, just that I'm not convinced it's the best arrangement.

The real problem here is the position of BU directors who sit on the BFC board and who are proving impossible to hold to account. The difficulty that the Chair of BIAS has in criticising people for occupying two seats is that he does so himself. That's my point - hopefully better explained this time.

Bu Egm

I was all for an EGM a few weeks ago but that was back when I thought a motion of no confidence amounted to a hill of beans. Now I realise that BU has no influence or power over the BFC Board so I think we should go ahead and make a public announcement of censure to make ourselves feel better but not expect anything to actually change. Sorry to sound so completely fatalistic and cynical but I am now wondering whether it would be a better use of time and emotion to concentrate on how we persuade/influence structural change at the Club. Or are we completely frozen out from doing that as well?

Comments? Thoughts? Ideas?
