As I’ll be coming from Bath on Saturday, just wanted to check there’s no Eastbound M4 closures this weekend?
National Highways website indicating only Westbound closures between Junctions 6 & 8/9. (Which is OK for me as I’ll be going back via A316/M3/A303. (Again this should be fine as England rugby at Twickers is another 16:45 KO ??)

(Sorry Mods, not sure how I created this as a sticky……..?)

No car for me this time. For Newcastle game, the Highways Agency managed to plan an M4 closure to coincide with a Premier league football fixture, an international rugby match and the closing of two lanes of the Great West Road at Gillette Corner. This meant that a 20 minute drive from Harlington to Brentford took 1.5 hours. By the time we entered the stadium, Dasilva had been sent off and the match was already over to all intents and purposes.

All I need to know for this one, is how the flow of traffic within Spoons is likely to be affected by rugger types. I have to choose between Feltham and Hounslow, before jumping on train. Feltham more convenient, just so long as access to bar is not unduly impeded. Should be OK at 13:00 - 14:00 hopefully.

I’d choose Feltham over Hounslow, every time ?‍♂️

Always preferred Hounslow but that’s probably because my lad used to work there. Besides, nothing against the other, but I don’t necessarily fulfill all the criteria for admission. ??

I had to walk from Hounslow Station to Whitton Station after Newcastle game..
You can see why trip advisor says take an Uber.
281 takes out the boring part of that walk.
Did you get away before the rugbyists came out?

I try to avoid Hounslow, as much as I can ?

Doesn't the 281 get diverted up Whitton High Street, when there's rugby at Twickenham?

Something I found amusing, on the way to the Newcastle game, were the instructions on the matrix signs, on the M40, just before the M25. They said something like, "For Twickenham Rugby, use M25 and M4 East". That being the same M4 East which was closed. Maybe it was a ploy to ensure the Welsh rugby fans got lost.

The M40 doesn't go to Wales. So it would be the English in the West Midlands that would be getting the bad info.

Feltham 'spoons never gets too bad on rugby days so you'll be fine. Plus guaranteed to comfortably get on the train, was a bit of a squeeze for Newcastle from Hounslow onwards

Continuing to take it off topic but If you’re travelling from North Wales you’d take M40

Anyway, Burnley - I’ve got a 10 minute walk but caught Covid on weekend. Potentially out

No Piccadilly line between Hammersmith and Northfields on Saturday

Also no District line Chiswick Park. So affecting those who walk to Chiswick Park, as Gunnersbury is shut for an hour after game
So South Ealing closed, Chiswick Park closed, Acton Town closed and Gunnersbury closed after the game. :(

That's the way I will be going this Saturday (y). Sometimes I go up to Fen then Tower Hill to Gunnersbury then 12 min walk. Only have to change once.

South coast

bus replacement between Barnham and Brighton . Saying it will take 40 mins on the bus from barnham to Arundel. Sod that.

Trains are running from Arundel up.

Or you can still get to Clapham junction from Barnham but going via Havant which takes about 40 mins longer than normal, with a change.

I will be on the 10.18 from arundel
