Surely that’s an oxymoron, or a joke.

“Investment group”...aren’t these types of organisation typically interested in skimming profits rather than sustainability? And how profitable is an English club ever likely to be

Actually, providing the owners don't somehow piss it all up against a wall, Premier League clubs can be very profitable. Why else do you think overseas billionaire investors are falling over themselves to buy into the PL, or when unable to do so, buying Championship clubs they think might get promoted to the PL?

Half a billion pounds: Report reveals record Premier League club profits

English Premier League clubs enjoyed record profits last season, according to a report published Friday by financial consultants Deloitte.

The report said the Premier League made a collective pre-tax profit of £0.5 billion... ... almost three times the previous record of £0.2 billion in 2013/14.

With strong broadcast revenues and Financial Fair Play rules keeping wages in check to a degree, England's top-flight clubs also posted a record operating profit -- total revenues minus wages and other costs, apart from transfer fees, - of £1 billion, double the figure for the previous season.

That figure is down on the record profit of £36.6m (£45m pre-tax) recorded for the previous 12 months,

takeover completed. How will this all end I wonder.

Burnley

Bit smelly but pretty normal for football. Where did it all go wrong the fans cry as Burnley find themselves with Bolton, Wigan, Sunderland Portsmouth Charlton (and QPR and Derby) on their fixture list in div 3.
