Cambridge Predictions

Saw Cambridge at Notts on Saturday and wished I'd been at GP. They really are a poor team, built in the John Beck mould. They're built round two big but useless centre backs (Walling and Angus)and two midfield cloggers (Wanless and Ashbee). Their sole tactic is to belt the ball as hard and high as possible towards the corner flag to win a throw in or corner.Their only player with any discernible talent was a lanky ginger streak of piss called Dave Kitson.

In fact I don't think I've ever seen a game with so many throw ins. In the end they built up quite a head of steam and pinned notts back into their area with a succession of throws and corners and were only denied a point by a last minute penalty save.

So if we can defend long throws aimed at Alcide's head, we should have few problems at the back and I think even we should be able to break down their defence eventually.

1-0 Bees (Kevin O'Connor)

Cambridge Predictions

Hardly surprising tactics from a John Beck team, is it? Stevland Angus played against us at GP last season for Bournemouth. I thought he was quite the worst centre back I have ever seen play for a professional team. Twice he was completely outwitted by a high ball and twice Andy Scott capitalised. When he was subbed, I presumed that would be the last time he would "grace" a professional match. Obviously I counted without the footballing brains of Mr Beck. I will be gutted if we can't beat them.

Cambridge Predictions

They really should be there for the taking. Only that Tom Youngs is half decent but can't c him getting past Ijah to easily with Powelly's air presence to c off Alcide hopefully we shall win this one

Cambridge Predictions

Did they keep hold of that Omer Riza? I thought he was a useful player but I have an inkling he might only have been a loan player from West Ham (like Defoe).

Four Posts - One prediction!

anyway, 2-0 Bees,
burgess class, and sickboy will reaise that he is not really very good and do some work- for a late bit of breathing space

Cambridge Predictions

No sign of him on Saturday.
Tom Youngs, though, is a decent player. He's recovering from injury, came on as sub and promptly injured himself again trying to put in the penalty rebound.

No, I haven't forgotten Glenn Thomas of Brighton (formerly of Fulham). Stevland Angus is the worst professional centre-back I have ever seen, including Glenn Thomas!

Jesus, I can't wait for Monday then. I'm driving back from Holland in the morning, I'll have to get an earlier Eurotunnel now to make double sure I don't miss KO.

Oh yes, back to the predictions then. Well, in the light of what Edmundo has revealed and the fact I already thought Cambridge were toilet after last season (worst side I saw at GP) it's got to be

With the defence so impressive I can't see many teams scoring against us this season. Taking chances could still be a problem.

I remember him from last season at GP. Everytime we got a throw in on the New Road side, he would run straight over and stand in front of the thrower. Idiot.

Back to the question, 4-1 to us, with O'Connor getting 2, Evans scoring yet another screamer and Paul Gibbs from a deflected corner.
