Been following Carl on twitter for a while after coming across him randomly. Does local radio for Sheff Utd, seems to be a minor legend there and seems to have a real passion for the club. He was unplayable for us the first half of the 96-97, a bit like DJ a few years later in that every time he got the ball you got a feeling he'd either score or create something. Like DJ, shame he wasn't with us longer.

7 minute hat trick against Shrewsbury towards the start of that season. Perfect hat trick too IIRC.

One of my favourite players. Saw him win a cup at GP against Wet Spam i think. He played up front with a very small striker, who i cant remember the name of. Wonder what happened to him. Just remembered, Ravenscroft, I think.

I hought it was a youth cup fjnal. I know the youth were doing very well that year. Ravenscroft looked the real deal, until he was kn a pitch with grown ups. I think he had one season on our books. Have a dim memory of him scoring a yard out from the goal jn a penalty area scramble. It all kind of gets jumbled up, my.memories these days.

Capital League President’s cup final. We also played against Barnet at Underhill later that day for Gary Phillips testimonial.
