Whispers coming out of Leyton Orient say that now they have made a couple of signings we will be signing Carl Griffiths from them.

The price a low £15,000 - they re-signed him for £100,000 on a three year contract but want him off the payroll.

Is this the experienced forward we could do with??

Carl Griffiths

Possibly. Isn't he very injury-prone? If so, he'll fit in very well!!

£15,000 is chicken-feed, but how much are his wages and how long a contract will we need to offer?

I've certainly heard dafter suggestions.

We've been linked with him before - does anyone else remember the rumour about swapping Scotty P. for him a year or so ago?

Carl Griffiths

Orient Fan on their Rivals board reckons his wages are £900 a week basic.

Reading the thread some would be happy for him to go while others still rate him.

We still have dont we ? Trouble is he needs to find where the net is or feed a partner up front who does .

Scotty P will never be a 25 a season man, he creates more than he scores and needs a strong and big front man alongside him - not sure waht to make of Griffiths though.....

Trouble is if we want to suceed then we need two 20+ goals a season men. If we do manage to obtain such creatures would there then be a place for Scotty P in the starting line up? We must not lose sight that promotion is what we need and no matter how “nice” a player may be if they are not going to be able to assist in producing the end result then they should only figure on the subs bench.

What's the point, they'll only be GIVEN AWAY to the bottom team 3/4 of the way thru' the season

yes, griffiths will definitely leave the o's, along with steve watts (tho that's a bit more doubtful, i hear)...

where he'll go, i don't know... i certainly don't think, upon seeing him, he was a "class above" div 3... i don't think he'd be the answer to our problems
