Paed is also an option
Connell dropping into midfield?
our most creative player at the right end of the pitch, I am pretty sure AS will start with Stone and Milsom. Would also start the back four with Sankofa-Heywood-Osborne-Dickson, harsh on Paed but that is the beauty at the moment, players challenging for positions.but one I would'nt use. The good thing with AS so far is the fact he plays players in their proper position, Paed has never really looked a centre mid to me, I would keep with Milsom and Stone, and see where we go from there.
True, and he did get injured against H&R so probably wasn't fully fit for a while after that too. It's a bit harsh on Pead to write him off as a central midfielder since he has only played there under Butcher.
Milsom and Stone?[/QUOTE said:.................70's American cop show......................
Pead, Milsom, Stone, Parkes, Poole can drop inside left if we put Dickson on the wing and Milsom at left back, Connell attacking midfield if we're desperate as we do have enough strikers to still play 4-4-2 and have subs available. It is a problem, but not as big a problem now as it was 2 months ago.
As posted above, I would like to see Reid up front with Elder as he doesn't seem to be lighting the world up on the right wing just now.
Back four as was the 2nd half yesterday. Pead hasnt really performed well in the last 3 games .

Would rather have Pead on the bench and push Poole inwards tbh, but I've posted my team in the Big Match section so yeh.Shouldnt go messing about too much. Dickson is playing well at LB, he should stay there, Pead hasnt had a good couple of games, so maybe a change into midfield could do him good. We would lose a lot of good attacking play if Connell dropped back and its not necessary
i beg to differ, this was Pead's first game at RB where he has struggled, been an unsung 'hero' of our last 10 matches IMO.

You did not see him at Peterborough, then?i beg to differ, this was Pead's first game at RB where he has struggled...
won't Smith be eligible on Saturday anyway?

Actually, I think it depends on the opposition. Pead has looked sound against average left-midfielders but, faced with a speedy winger, his lack of speed lets him down. He does, on the other hand, get forward and cross well; it works best when Shakes breaks forward and then lays the ball off to Pead to cross.
At home, our problem is breaking down defensive formations so I'd prefer to see centre-midfield keeping tight and allowing the back-and-winger combination, on each side, to get to the by-line and pile in the crosses, now we have a threat with Elder.

tada !
bdom, bish bom
Pead and Milsom whilst keeping the back four how they ended against Barnet. Pead performedd the 'KOC role' very well away to Luton in the cup.
rofl rofl
I know the sentiment is against fiddling, but let me suggest something a bit different and see how much abuse I get:
Paed-Heywood-Osborne-Dickson, as before in back four.
Sankofa as ball-winning midfielder (Makelele role). He's quick, positionally smart and has some decent ballskills that might make this an ideal role for him
Connell as attacking midfielder, Reid and Elder.

Can someone tell Boston Bee Terry Butcher has nicked his log in.
A defender and a striker as the central midfield partnership![]()

Andy Scott saw a potential problem in midfield with Kev and Mous out for a number of weeks.
He brought players in specifically to cover them which, whilst not an ideal solution, is a far better option that trying to fit square pegs in round holes á la Butcher.
Milsom and Stone should be the pairing on Saturday and if it goes belly up, Scotty will be man enough to admit his mistake. For me, Pead should start at right back and Karleigh on the bench (for now).
