Change in a Week

Has there ever been a week where attitudes about how we are going to do have been changed, or at least debated so much?

I can’t immediately think of one.

Obviously Henry and Schade getting injured on top of Toney and loads of other injuries and being in this league are major factors.

That Easter week in 1989 where we lost to Fulham at home 0-1, lost the LDV south final to Torquay to miss out on Wembley. Lost at Anfield 4-0 in QF of the FA cup. And sold Andy Sinton! ?

That’s a good call. The Good Friday game was a unique one. The players were dropping like flies. Everyone seemed totally knackered.

Thanks for reminding us ? if only Cadette shot went in against Liverpool - I’m convinced that week would have been so different. As TF says all about fine margins.

Was it Allan Cockram joked they’d have probably smashed us 8-1 if that had gone in & put us 1-0 up! ? Bit good that Liverpool team.

:ROFLMAO: What ever we think about that particular match, it certainly wasn't about fine margins! Cadette should have scored, but that Liverpool team was way too good.

Considering Liverpool had beaten Middlesbrough 4-0 away and Luton 5-0 at home in the previous weeks we didn't do too badly.
Didn’t they beat, 2nd in the old 1st division, Notts Forest 5-0, a few days after beating us?
They were a very good side

We’d have won 1-0 (Cadette) & wouldn’t have all seater stadiums now.

They beat Forest 3-1 in the next round. Just before that they put 5 passed Wednesday.

Probably 7-1

Never seen a team so much better than us as Liverpool that day
Thought we gave it a good go first half. Second half, yeah they really turned the screw.

Going top in 20/21 and then losing three in a row was a bit jarring to put it mildly
"6 days that finished our season...." as someone said...

And someone (maybe the same one) said it was time for TF to go as he’d shown he’d taken the team as far as he could!!!

IIRC this was said less than 5 weeks before we were promoted.
