What I DON’T want is the new manager trying to emulate the sort of unique things that Thomas Frank did. For example, the walk along the touchline applauding the fans before each home game.
I remember when Leroy Rosenior was appointed, the first thing he did was a hold a Q&A session on the pitch at Griffin Park, a la Martin Allen. That sort of thing was what a self-publicist like MA craved and was brilliant at. Leroy looked so uncomfortable and out of his comfort zone that I had instant doubts about whether he would be his own man, or simply try and replicate what Martin Allen was all about.
What‘s gone with Thomas Frank stays gone. The new man MUST be himself.
