Changing Ends?

What with us changing the ends again at Griffin Park does everyone on here think :-

a) The atmosphere will get better
b) There will be potentially more trouble

-and-

anyone on here that sung in the brook road end, where are you relocating - my money would be into New Road....?

Is the "hate corner" now being re-formed? If so, should be interesting against Peterborough, Chesterfield & Dagenham & Redbridge(?)......

Changing Ends?

when we changed ends when the wendy house was built, we had a bad run off form and didn't win at home for ages

Changing Ends?

The Royal Oak is our home end, and therefore we should always be at that end of the ground end of.

Changing Ends?

I'll never forget the dreadfull sinking feeling when I first saw the piece of sh*te that replaced the Royal Oak. It suddenly became dreadfully clear that there was no footballing ambition behind the closed doors at G.P. It would seem that my gut feeling was indeed correct, especially considering the couple of blatant sabotage jobs when it looked (oh sh*t) like we would actually go up! Frankly, I have to wonder if it's worth giving a toss when the "suits" obviously don't. Oh well, maybe T.B will sweep away some of the cobwebs (if allowed) and start us on the long road back to a club not to be embarrassed by, we all live in hope I suppose.

Relocating to my front room.:(

Supporters are not wanted at GP, so I might as well give the suits what they want.

prefer standing have experienced the uncomfort of new road a few times and dont wish to again anytime soon

Changing Ends?

Brook Road was only a temporary location from the home supporters' true location in Ealing Road. I spent many years under the floodlight tower (except autumn, when the birds are eating summer fruits!) and I'm sure it will become famous for it's noise and occasional venom.

Having said, that, I moved to NR rather than the Wendy House and I'm going to stick there in my old age.

Changing Ends?

I've stuck it in BR lower probably for sentimental reasons plus we prefer to stand so will give Ealing Road a try. Never too fond of New Road so if Ealing Road isn't too clever it will have to be Braemar, probably D block. I really hope Ealing Road works out though.

i had a good look at the (new ealing rd).. the other night against reading, and i think if the team give us something to sing about.... a full ealing rd ,we could blow the roof off,.. i think it will be 5 times louder than the wendy house, :D

Possibly, and hopefully, but there weren't that many Reading fans there* and they still managed to make quite a racket, so wondering if it's a good idea for the possible slight monetary advantage gained in the very slim possibility of a home ticket sell-out.
All will be revealed on the first day of the season, no doubt, as the powers that be refuse to let us fill Ealing Road up and shout our heads off until then.

*probably more than most aways we'll get in this season and they were also the more hardcore shouty Raeding supporters, but still...

a- hopefully yes. there's been no atmosphere anywhere since hate corner except a few MASSIVE games (play offs. reading. dave webbs southend. etc).

b - hopefully yes but i don't see why. they are up the end nearest the station now. why do you think more trouble?

i think the fun people, drinkers, pilligers and singers will re-locate to the ealing road end.

I get the train :(

oh yeah, me too. :sorted: rofl
Stick together, we can take 'em ;) A bit like Double Dragon, you take the left, I'll take the right.
I do hope the acoustics in Ealing Road are good though, it seems to be built of the right material for extra loudness, although the boards in Brook Road are good for banging.

:sorted: In my heart I will always be standing just to the right of goal on 'The Oak' eating a bag of Percy Dalton's monkey nuts. :D

Back in the day we all used to change ends at half-time. Astonishing when you think about it now.

I'm going to miss sitting in Brook Road - great view

Not sure where I will go now

Some of us used to stand by the iron gates at the back of the old tunnel and wait for the toss-up to see which way we were kicking before making a dash for BR or ER. Took me some time to get used to standing/sitting behind our own keeper when that had to stop but at least it made me appreciate how good/crap some of our defenders were from close up.

It was a bit surreal in hindsight, not only did people change ends and leave a reasonably full Royal Oak stand ( the real one) almost empty for the second half, but many in in the New Road would shift to the other end of the stand where the oppo goal was.

I mean as I recall it was not if we actually scored that often even in those days

I guess there were few away suppporters in those days..
